Casa Pé di Polon: countryside house, 6 p/2BR

Welcome to Casa Pé di Polon! Our house is located in a little village, Leitãozinho, just few meters from its stunning Baobab. The place is about half an hour walking from the main road that connects Praia-Assomada-Tarrafal and approximately two kilometers from the city centre of Picos (Achada Igreja). From Leitãozinho one can take several hiking routes throughout nice villages such as Burbur, Achada Leitão, Faveta, Jalalo Ramos, Mato Dentu, Mato Forte, Covão grande, among others. We recently renovated our house, but we kept its original format. In this way we enjoy modern commodities like a warm shower, without giving up the authentic feeling of living in a traditional Cape Verdean house. You will find a living room with couches and a dining table; a master bedroom and a second bedroom with two beds, two bathrooms each with toilet, sink and shower, and a kitchen with fire plates and fridge. We offer internet through a pendrive that you can connect to your computer to have mobile internet. Regrettably there is no possibility of offering WiFi in our village. You rent the entire house. So you will have private use of the kitchen, living room, bedrooms and bathrooms. You can also enjoy our terras with view on the baobab and the surrounding valley. On top of that you have access to our private garden, where you can harvest some pumpkin to eat or pick some fresh eggs from our chicken. You are also free to feed our two goats. So come to enjoy the true countryside feeling. In light of the current pandemic we want to ensure you that we follow Airbnb’s five-step enhanced cleaning process, which is based on Airbnb’s cleaning handbook that was developed in partnership with experts. We live in Belgium but spent our holidays in Leitaõzinho. Jairzinho also grew up in the area so he is very familiar with the surroundings. So you can always contact us for some tips and tricks in planning your holidays. Also during your stay you can always contact us by phone (available in the house) or by mail. Our housekeeper lives next door and is always willing to help when needed. Our house is located in a little village in a valley where it is very nice to hike. Between August and December the valley and the hills are normally covered in green and you will find little rivers with waterfalls all around. In the remaining months the land is dry, but the hills remain a nice area to hike. Starting from the main road by Achada Igreja you can the house by foot in half an hour downhill. You can also get there by car or get a taxi to take you there (+/- 20 min). You can park your car within the confinements of our property. The housekeeper lives just next door. We live in Europe but will be reachable and available to help with information and tips.
