This is a bigger than average traditional street house There are fireplaces in the living room, main bedroom and an old range in the kitchen, but we ask you not to light fires in them as the flues need relining and we don't want you to have any problems with fumes . Ultra high ceilings, steep staircases. Decorated with pieces from my travels. Yard with barbeque and seating. There aren't many photos at the moment, as we have been renovating. Coming Soon - request if required. No 3 is right on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, with a view of the sea, which is 6 miles away, from the road outside. Close to Lockwood Beck trout fishery (fly only), and magnificent moorland views. Whitby is 15 miles away, accessible by two buses or car. First Floor - There is a large bedroom with double bed, Optional trundle twin bed (Extra Cost direct with Owners), wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables, and a second single bedroom. The First Floor bathroom has a bath with deluge shower over, radiator, wall heater, fan, sink and toilet. Second Floor - There is a large bedroom with king size bed, television, built in wardrobe and shelving, bedside tables, and a second single bedroom also with television. The Second Floor bathroom has a standalone shower, radiator, fan, sink and toilet. The living room has a TV with Netflix and Prime, two double sofas and a couple of easy chairs. There is a small dining table and 2 wicker dining chairs. There are various books on the shelves, please feel free to read and swap any novels but don't take any reference books e.g. dictionaries, cook books away. Buckets and spades in situ! The kitchen has an integrated fridge, integrated freezer, microwave, integrated dishwasher, electric fan oven and gas hob. As this is our house, it is fully equipped with extras like a mixer, juicer etc. It is fully equipped with cookware, cutlery and crockery. In addition to the washing machine, we have also installed a condenser tumble drier. We provide all towels and bed linen, tea towels and oven gloves. Basic food supplies of tea, coffee, salt, pepper, herbs spices and cooking oil are in the cupboards. We provide milk for your first cuppa. There are locked cupboards in the kitchen and main bedroom with extra linen, basic maintenance stuff and supplies for the cleaners. Prior to Brexit, I worked in Greece from May to November, and this is my house, so I may not be around during your stay. I have a local co host who lives in Guisborough, a ten minute drive away, in case of any major issues or emergencies. Either she, I, or my partner Anthony are available easily by message or phone call. Lingdale was an old ironstone mining village, established in the 1800s to house the miners and their families. It was mostly developed around two roads, one leading to the older settlement of Stanghow, up towards the moors and down through Skelton to the sea in the opposite direction. The other road leads to previous ironstone mining villages at Boosbeck and Margrove Park ( pronounced Magra locally). There is a wildflower meadow, nice for dog walks, 200 yards from the house. The local chip shop is just behind us and the post office, butchers, pharmacy and local general shop are within 100 yards. The house was originally part of the pub next door, hence the very high ceilings. The pub although completely renovated is remaining closed following a bereavement. There is a blue folder at the house with suggestions for other eating places, walks etc. There are local buses departing from just a minutes walk round the corner, going to Saltburn-by-the-sea, the local market town of Guisborough, the seaside town of Redcar, and Middlesbrough. To access the moors, you really need a car. Whitby is about 15 miles away. We suggest that you use park and ride from April onwards, clearly signposted from the road over the moors, as parking in Whitby is busy and sometimes hard to find, despite large car parks. The staircase is very steep and for this reason we don't let the house to families with babies or toddlers under two. There are two bannister rails. Please put all used sheets, pillowcases and towels (not mattress or pillow protectors - they get disinfectant sprayed between guests and are on a our deep clean system) in the linen bags provided at the end of your stay to comply with Covid rules. Please do let us know if you damage anything. We know that accidents happen and a little warning and covering the cost of damages allows us to make sure that the next guests have everything that they need.
