Quiet relaxation or work, in the heart of Perche
In the heart of the Perche Park, Le Tertre de Piclos is a 17th century farmhouse restored with natural materials, in a green setting (garden, pond and wood). For a person and stays of medium duration, the place in deep countryside is ideal to rest, walk, work serenely a project, a scenario or a creation. A barn on two levels is an haven to read or admire the landscape. Louis also offers a very nice room in central Paris. The house is an old farm nestled in the heart of a park of almost 3 hectares where coexist garden, meadow, pond and wood. It is located on the edge of a small hamlet of four houses and sheltered from the wind by a small hill. It is restored taking into account the traditional methods and materials of the Perche region (tile, oak wood, lime, flint, limestone and bricks). An open barn borders it on two levels: you can take your meals in the barn or spend a moment to read, work, or simply admire the nature. Louis makes sure that the garden displays its variety and its best colors in all seasons but without forcing the nature: it will not be prohibited to the travelers to lend a hand! 😊 But first of all the frame is made to rest or meditate, nestled on a deck chair or simply on a mat unrolled on the lawn. A walk in the woods or around the small pond, or more largely on the whole and roads of the environment, will complete a stay marked above all by the serenity. The interior is the subject of a subtle balance between comfort (insulation by double glazing, heating by heat pump, internet, wifi, TV) and authenticity (walls coated with lime, exposed beams, ceilings sometimes in paneling, floors tiles or parquet, farmhouse doors, etc. Nothing is flashy! The house lives, breathes, ages and rejuvenates. The decoration and furnishings reflect the same balance and the many flea markets or regional or family antiques have done the rest. Some objects or paintings may even be available for sale. The private room is on the ground floor and overlooks the garden. It has a single bed of 120 cm. A shared bathroom is accessible at the same level. The house has a large dining room, a large cathedral lounge and a TV lounge, accessible to travelers. In the house and its surroundings, calm is guaranteed and therefore to preserve! A cat has elected his domain, pay attention to possible allergies. You can smoke in the common areas but not in the rooms; however, the immediate proximity of the countryside allows especially to do it outdoors. In order to preserve the calm of the places and the harmonious sharing of the spaces with the hosts, the room is strictly for one person. If visitors want to pass for a short time, this must be done in consultation with the hosts. A good internet connection is available inside as well as in the immediate vicinity of the house. A DVD library (300 films and series) and a library (in the process of being enriched) are accessible to travelers. Sheets and towels are provided. A simple breakfast is included in the room rate for stays of less than one week. In case of longer stays, a participation fee of € 5 per breakfast will be requested and it may be suggested to the traveler to prepare it himself with the available ingredients. If the traveler wants to share lunch or dinner with the hosts, he can ask for it with about 48h notice. A participation fee of about 15 euros will be requested and adjustable on site with the hosts. The kitchen and dining room are obviously accessible to prepare and consume your own meals. The guests, two in number, may be present during the traveler's stay, usually only one of them. In addition to the private room, the traveler can access his own way and share with guests if they are present: the kitchen, the dining room, the bathroom, the large living room, the TV lounge on the mezzanine and the joined barn on both levels. And of course the entire park! Patrick and Louis who live on the spot will be happy to exchange with the traveler and inform him/her about the house and the region. Located in the heart of the Natural Park of Perche (see website), 1h30 from Paris, on a field of 3 hectares, and facing the bucolic valley of La Cloche, the house is 20km from Nogent le Rotrou (with its medieval castle) and 45km from Chartres (and its world famous cathedral).
