De Vere House is a highly acclaimed former Five Star and Gold Award bed and breakfast accommodation offering two beautiful four poster en-suite bedrooms. Lavenham is reputedly Britain's finest medieval village (with over 300 protected heritage properties and appearing as Godric's Hollow in the Harry Potter films). De Vere House is located in the centre of this pretty village and itself offers a wealth of history as well as comfortable accommodation and delicious Suffolk breakfast. Two four poster bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms, TV, wifi internet access, private guest sitting room with log fire and courtyard garden. Own entrance. Please note that both rooms are listed separately on Airbnb. We provide a full English breakfast and vegetarian selection available too (taken in the Dining Room of the main wing of the House). Not suitable for pets, children under 18 or those with mobility problems due to the age and layout of the house. Guests access bedrooms, bathrooms, a private sitting room and courtyard garden, their own entrance, (all with access 24 hours). In addition, guests access the Dining Room in the main house for breakfast The owers live in the main house and love talking about its history and that of our amazing village. We also have guide books, leaflets, maps and guide books guests can borrow and offer suggestions of where to visit and eat both in the village and the surrounding countryside We are in a village that has a stunning medieval Church, Medieval Guildhall, several award winning restaurants, loads of interesting craft and antique shops. There are a variety of tea rooms, a butchers, bakers three grocers, a spa, several beauty therapists and hairdressers, two Museums, several Art Galleries, tennis courts in the village and four golf courses within 25 minutes. A swimming pool in the nearby market town of Sudbury, and close to the historical and shopping centres of Bury St Edmunds, the wool towns of West Suffolk, Newmarket races with the National Stud, Roman Colchester and the famous university town Cambridge. The village is easily accessed from Stanstead Airport or by rail terminus from London Flights in to Stanstead airport and then 1 hours drive to Lavenham Trains to and from London to Colchester, Sudbury and Stowmarket BR stations Bus service to and from Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds Cars can be hired locally and we are served by several taxi firms, details from our web site or on contacting the owners Lavenham has its own Nature Walk and several other walks out to Preston or Long Melford along the former Railway line We do not accept people under 18 as guests.
