Our guests love the space in The Cowshed, the huge openplan area for just the two of you, loads of worktop and cupboard space for the preparation of meals and storage of your provisions. The garden is a real sun trap and a great place to relax and eat al fresco, or sunbathe on the super comfortable loungers. The location of the cottage is very quiet, except for a tractor from time to time, and there is very little light polution. Parking: 2 parking spaces We decided to create a special holiday cottage for just two people and provide a large open-plan living area for our guests to enjoy. Each area for sitting and eating plus the kitchen are quite separate from each other and have their own ambience. The dining area overlooks the garden, the sitting area focuses on entertainment area, TV, books, games and comfortable seating with views towards the east. The kitchen is super spacious, with lots of storage cupboards, a full sized fridge and separate freezer, lots of great cooking equipment for the preparaton of food from our great local producers - just ask us where to shop. The bedroom has views to the east over undulating farm land, a king sized bed and a large enclosed wardrobe and shelving unit. Our guests have loved the Aqualisa shower which is programmable and the bedroom and shower room are separated by an opaque glass screen letting natural light into the shower room. Unfortunately the cottage is only suitable for guests and a babe-in-arms and is unsuitable for crawling or walking toddlers. Underfloor heating is provided throughout the cottage and the hot water and heating system is powered by an airsource system, which is environmentally friendly. Guests have access to all spaces within the cottage and have sole use of the garden attached to the cottage. The owners live on site and are readily available. The Cowshed is in the countryside and the village of Yoxford is a short drive (3 minutes) or a pretty country walk via the road and well marked footpaths. There are two other cottages on the property, plus our own house and gardens and the whole property covers 5 acres, so there is plenty of space for everyone to live together and enjoy the environment. Please note that Wifi is shared with all three cottages and can be intermittent and due to our rural location, can be unreliable. The village is quite a busy place, with two restaurants which have made special arrangements to provide food and refreshments for their customers; the village has some lovely buildings together with three fine, large houses, which all contribute to Yoxford being known as one of the garden villages of Suffolk. There are lots of footpaths which are easily accessible from the cottage and we would be happy to tell you about our favourites routes. The Heritage Coast is also a short drive from the cottage with highlights being Southwold, Dunwich and Aldeburgh, with some well known National Trust and RSPB sites within easy reach. Being in the country, public transport is not the best so coming by car, motorbike or bicyle is your best option. Darsham Railway Station is only 5 minutes away so you could arrive by train bringing your bicycles. We have two additional holiday cottages on our property, Plough and Harrow, which are a pair of cottages converted from another barn, each sleep 4 people. They are situated about 100 metres from The Cowshed giving privacy to guests in the Cowshed. Parking is separate and the only area where our guests share facilities is in the Stables where the washing machine and tumble dryer are located. The stables also has an area for bicycles to be stored.
