Airbnb guests do not have access to the community pool located next to the boat ramp. We do not live in the area but are reachable by phone or email. Once you are at the cabin the best way to reach me is through the Airbnb app which you can access with wifi at the boat ramp. Wifi name: Hidden Lake Guest. No password needed. We have neighbors in the area who can help in a pinch if need be. The private (community) lake access is a quarter mile down the dirt road. Highland lake is 7 miles long with lots of area to explore, including a couple of sandbars that are good for swimming and water games. Willard Pond is a gorgeous spring fed lake that is about 20 minutes away. It's great for swimming and hiking around it. A few miles further is Hancock...a tiny, quaint New England village with a general store and a great little cafe called Fiddlesticks. (You'll need to check on opening status due to COVID.) Pitcher Mountain is an easy hike with great views and blueberry bushes and is about a 5 min drive from the cabin. If you are more adventurous I suggest Mt Monadnock or Mt Sunapee. They are both about a 30 minute drive – see the hiking books in the cabin for more info. The Stoddard general store has ice cream and a small deli. Peterborough and Keene are both nice little towns with good restaurants, shops and bookstores about 25 minutes away. (Again, I am not sure what might be closed due to COVID-19). FALL GUESTS: The cabin is surrounded by woods and as the weather cools it is possible that a mouse may also visit the cabin and you may possibly find evidence of this visit. Please do not book Little Bear cabin during Sept-Oct if this possibility bothers you. WIFI: There is no wifi or cell service at the cabin but there is free wifi at the boat ramp 1/4 mile down the road. Wifi name: Hidden Lake Guest; no password needed.
