Bishop's Rest: Modern 3 bed house in B. Auckland
Welcome to Bishop’s Rest, a recently refurbished 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom terraced house, located a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Bishop Auckland in County Durham. Welcome to a 3-bedroom terraced house that has been refurbished and furnished to a high standard. As soon as you walk in, hopefully you’ll see the care and attention to detail that’s gone into making this property a modern and comfortable place to stay. The main living space is open plan, with one half given over to the large sofa and twin armchairs and the home’s wall-mounted smart TV. You can access Freeview and Netflix from here, so you needn’t miss out on that series you’re following just because you’re away from home. Also in here is the extendable dining table, ideal if you’re a family wanting to share quality time together during a sit down meal, or if you’re here with colleagues on business and want a space you can share to work. It’s also worth noting that the property has an ultra fast internet connection, so you can stay in touch with the office or friends back home. Like the rest of the house, the kitchen has benefited from a complete refit. It’s light and bright, and has many of the appliances you’d expect (and need) to help make your stay a clean and comfortable one. The kitchen is also well equipped, including a Nespresso coffee machine (great if George Clooney pops round); and for the more health conscious a Nutri Ninja to make your own smoothies; and a spiralizer so you can turn your veg into fun noodles. The kitchen leads to the first of the home’s two bathrooms, and also gives you access to the small outside yard. Venturing upstairs, you’ll find the home’s three bedrooms. One has a superking bed that can be easily split into twin beds; the second has twin beds, and the third bedroom is a single. It’s the flexibility of the bed arrangements that help make this house an ideal place to stay for a group of colleagues away on business, contractors working nearby as well as a family or group of friends travelling to the area to see the sights and enjoy the great hospitality of the North East. All the beds are new, and presented hotel-style - that is with puffed up pillows, crisp, clean sheets and cosy duvets. There’s storage space in the bedrooms for your bags and clothes, and a second bathroom with WC, wash basin and shower. We are delighted to give all our guests full and exclusive use of the house for the duration of their booking. There is one step to the property from street level, and with a downstairs bathroom and a sofabed, people who have difficulty with stairs can stay here without having to climb any, once in the house. There is plenty of on-street parking along the road and in nearby side streets. Whilst the property is self check-in (a code will be sent to you prior to your stay), we can be contacted by telephone, text and email to answer any of your questions. An emergency number will also be provided. However, a tablet is provided in the property that will contain information about the house and how everything works, including videos that demonstrate how to turn the sofa into a double bed; how to control the heating thermostat; and how to join the twin beds so they become a super kingsize. The tablet will also give information about the local area; allow you to browse the internet; order take aways; have your favourite music channel on whilst cooking dinner etc. Should you need help, assistance or answers to any questions you may have that are not covered, as noted above you can give us a call and we will be happy to help. The property is situated on a typical north east of England terraced street. It’s in a residential area superbly located just a couple of minutes’ walk from Bishop Auckland town centre. But even closer than that is the newsagent just across the road, where you can pick up milk, snacks and newspapers. If you need to do a bigger shop, the nearest large supermarket is less than five minutes walk away. Business visitors/contractors will enjoy how the property’s location gives you easy access by road to various big towns and cities in the region, including Durham, Middlesbrough and Sunderland. Those in the area for sightseeing will enjoy having all the following and more within easy reach: Kynren (within walking distance of the property) Durham (20 min drive) Auckland Castle (12 min walk) The National Railway Museum at Shildon (12 min drive) The Pennines (20+ min drive) Raby Castle (15 min drive) Beamish (35 min drive) Many visitors to the house will almost certainly bring their walking boots and make the most of the many hikes that can be enjoyed in the area. Those who enjoy fishing will also find plenty of picturesque options to enjoy. For those who prefer getting around on four wheels, the property is located close to the A1M, a major road route that links you to York and Leeds to the south, and Sunderland and Newcastle to the north. You can also pick up buses from the nearby town centre that will take you to various local areas, or catch a train with the option of changing in Darlington to access destinations such as Edinburgh to London (the train station being less than 10 mins walk from the property). Parking: There are single yellow lines along the street adjacent to the property, However on the opposite side of the road there are no restrictions, therefore you can park anywhere along there (apart from in the bus stop!). You may not always get a spot opposite the house, but it would be rare to have to park too far. On the off chance that you do, there is plenty of on road parking in the nearby side streets also.
