Shepherds Hut in the Hamlet of Dowran NR Penzance

Dowran is a wonderful rural hamlet in West Penwith , it is one of the quietest parts of Cornwall. We live in a traditional stone built Barn conversion with our chickens ,pet turkeys and dogs. The Shepherds hut is situated in our substantial back garden . It is a quiet, private space. The perfect base for exploring the scenery of west Cornwall or as a stopover on route to or from the Isles of Scilly. Guests staying in our Shepherds hut will have exclusive use of the raised decking area and walled patio/ barbecue area Self check in on arrival is between 4.00pm and 8.00pm. Guests are asked to give notice if arrival will be after 8.00 pm. Dowran is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, close to St Just, a town rich in mining heritage. Beaches in the area include Porthchapel, Gwynver, and Sennen. For Poldark fans, the film locations of Porthgwarra and Botallack are close by. Exploring the area can be done by car with ease. There are miles of stunning rugged scenery and hidden coves which can be appreciated also by bike or on foot. If you are looking for an afternoon stroll to take in a view or something a bit more challenging it’s all here in West Penwith, and a warm welcome awaits you. Logs and charcoal can be purchased locally in either St Just or Penzance.
