Plakias is a coastal settlement at the southern Crete, 40 km south of Rethymno, with a wonderful sandy beach, 1300 m long, that is ideal for swimming and sea sports. The natural beauty of the area helped Plakias to become a renowned tourist resort now providing all the facilities that a visitor could wish. There are many small secluded beaches for the naturalism lovers as well as some organized.
