The Old Stables Guesthouse is located in the picturesque village of Nocton close to the historic city of Lincoln. Nocton provides access to the fabulous countryside with the city of Lincoln and the famous Lincolnshire Wolds in easy reach. The Old Stables Guesthouse is a private self contained annex to a historic building which was once the stables of the Earl of Ripon, the owner of Nocton Hall. The guesthouse is a recently restored and self contained wing, attached to the main building. The guesthouse has its own private entrance which includes a hallway which leads to a lounge, kitchenette and dining area. From the lounge is a bedroom with a private en-suite wet room. The stables is ideal for 2 people but the sofa bed in the lounge can be used to sleep a further 2 guests. We can also accommodate children and babies with the availability of a cot and high chair. The space is also ideal for guests with limited mobility. Access to the annex is ramped. There is a small step between the lounge and the bedroom but the wet room is all on one level . The Kitchenette is well equipped and includes a full oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso Coffee machine, and a small induction hob. In addition in the hallway there is the use of a fridge freezer which includes filtered water and ice machine. In the bedroom there is a large wardrobe with internal drawers and a separate drawer unit. Plenty of storage for guests who wish to stay for longer. Both the lounge and bedroom have televisions with smart tv capability so you can access Netflix / Amazon etc. In addition the lounge television has a Sky package. The annex also has a dvd player and guests can either bring their own dvds or borrow some of ours. High Speed WiFi is available in the Annex. Guests will be given a code to enter the properties electric gates to provide secure off street parking for one vehicle. Guests will also be given their own key to access the stables annex without having to access the main house. This allows guests to come and go as they please. While 4pm is the stated earliest check in we can be flexible with prior arrangement. Check out will be before 11am. One of your hosts will meet you on arrival to welcome you and show you the facilities. We live in the main house so will be contactable most times. With arrangement your hosts will be on hand for your departure. In advance of your visit you can order basic groceries including milk, fresh homemade bread, locally made jams & preserves, butter, Nocton free range eggs (chicken and duck), Lincolnshire sausages. Other items can be provided upon prior request. A more detailed list of items that can be ordered will be emailed to guests once booking is confirmed and will need to be ordered at least 48hrs ahead of stay and paid for on arrival. Nocton is a picturesque historic village approx 7 miles south of Lincoln. It takes approx 15-20 mins by car to get into the heart of historic Lincoln. The other direction is the Victorian spa town of Woodhall Spa, approx 20 mins away. Locally, the larger villages of Metheringham and Branston are both 5 mins away by car away and includes shops, pubs, cafes, chemists and takeaway restaurants. From the old stables are a number of beautiful countryside walks which we can advise on for all abilities. The village has a historic woodland which in the spring includes blankets of snowdrops and bluebells. Getting about by car is easy and there is plenty of parking in Lincoln. Metheringham railway station is a 5 minute drive away. There is a bus stop in walkable distance from the old stables which goes to both Lincoln and Boston. We can also advise on local taxi services etc. The old stables is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Facilities in the village are limited, however, we have a brand new village community pub (The Ripon Arms, in the Nocton Hub, open 5 days per week) and a village post office, both in walking distance. There are Bus links to Lincoln and Boston from the village, leaving every hour. Nocton is also in the heart of Bomber County, rich in Military & Aviation History with several historic sites and museums in close proximity, including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby (about 25 mins away) and Metheringham Airfield visitors centre (about 6 mins away). We are a family home. We have a play area with swings & slide outside and toys which can be used. All children must be supervised and if playing on the play equipment outside will do so at their own risk. No smoking on the property. We also have a family friendly miniature schnauzer dog who lives in the main house but you may see her occasionally outside.
