Update: Now we also offer Apple-TV with prepaid Netflix installed. But who wants to stay inside , when you are surrounded by the most outstanding scenery and direct access to the beach? You will have 50-60 m2 private living-space. Despite we recommend you to spend the time here offline, where no TV can replace the scenery, we offer a 42" led-tv linked up with Apple-TV with pre-paid Netflix installed at your free disposal. Also, you will have own private 50/50 mbit WiFi in the apartment. The open full-size kitchen offers all amenities and equipment needed for cooking, as well as electric kettle, micro-oven and a large fridge (no dishwasher ). The kitchen and dining-area flooring is made from vinyl, and the rest of the apartment is fitted with laminated wooden floors ensuring that the place is easy to keep clean. The dining-table is placed next to a huge window facing the courtyard, offering a beautiful view. It is suited with 4 new chairs and additional chairs can be arranged if needed. Three windows are installed with mosquito nets by the way (though insects is not usually an issue despite of the location), as well as you find an electric mosquito slayer in the closet with cleaning accessories. The newly updated bathroom is installed with new clean toilet and sink, epoxy flowing as well as a sparkling clean glass shower-niche. The bathroom is separated from the living-space by a small cloakroom containing extra storage space. Here, you will also find warm spare duvets (blankets) to suit your needs, as well as extra foam mattresses e.g. for the sleeping-couch for extra comfort. The rear-wall of the apartment facing north-east, is one huge window-wall facing the small stream and waterfall underneath running through unspoiled nature. In the bedroom you will also find a huge private closet to store all your belongings. One window can open, fitted with mosquito net, and both windows are fitted with blackout curtains. Living room, dining area and kitchen is all one open space, and the extra two sleeping-places are placed in the living-room, consisting of a sleeping-couch and a full-size quality mattress stored behind the couch. You may want to know that there is currently not installed curtains in the living room. Your apartment is situated on the top floor of a wooden building next door, across the courtyard from the main-buildling (the original white-building you see on the photos) which is currently being renovated on the outside. This explains that there are currently no pictures of the house-front. You access your flat through the newly updated downstairs activity area, and of course you have your own private main-door with own key. The place is listed with 2x2 bed spaces, but we can offer extra quality mattresses to host additional guests if needed. Overall: What you should expect is not a 5 star Hilton hotel, but we are confident you will agree that the place surely deserves a 5-star AirBnB rating. A quick note about us and the place: 3 years ago we moved into this old watermill from 1790 with our twin daughters. We are a married couple just turned 40. Peter originates from Copenhagen and Astrid is born and raised in the neighbouring area. We both speak perfect english, and Astrid as well as the children also have native German as second language. Peter understands German fluently and is able to make himself understandable in German. Or, at least he will try hard to. We are still in the early process of renovating the place and setup 3-6 holiday apartments. So far, this is the first and there is nobody else living in the building, so it will be nice and quiet. You will be able to access the top floor apartment in the next-door building. You will be the only one in the building and you can access the downstairs as you please. We live next door and should be available most of the time. You can always reach us on our mobile. You should also know that we live our daily life as usual. You will most likely meet us, and we will greet you and most likely stop up and seek a chat with you, as well as we have our early routines in the morning. We will try and accommodate you and stay as quiet as we can in the morning hours. But we do have young children as well as a husband obsessed and impatient with constantly renovating and doing his DIY-thing outside. We are 10 houses on our street down to the water. Quiet, no traffic, no streetlight ruining the view of the stars above. Only happy and relaxed walkers and cyclists who are enjoying the scenery and nature. You live right on the very popular trail for mountain biking and hiking (walking). The road leading down to the property has new asphalt coating perfect for street- and racing bikes, and 500 meters down the road, it connects with miles and miles of new safe, separate cycle-paths. The cycle path (and road) lead directly down to Sonderborg City Centre and Dybøl Banke (the famous battle scene of 1864 also housing the mill and the fantastic museum worth a visit). 1.5 km down the road you find a grocery shopping with a wide range of products open from 08 to 20 all days of the week, as well as a take-away. Without having to cross the street, the separate and safe cycle paths leads down to a nice traditional Danish bakery, which we also recommend. You are less than 5 minutes from the motor way, or, you could even choose taking a flight directly from Copenhagen to Sonderborg, and within an hour from when you leave your door, you will be standing on Copenhagen Central Station. Pickup at the air-port may be arranged if notified in advance. There are frequent busses just up the road, with direct access to Sønderborg, Aabenraa, Flensborg and Gråsten. You will have 6km to Gråsten (Gråsten Castle, which accommodates the royal family during the summer, is also worth a visit) and 8km to Sønderborg. Sonderborg is a great place for shopping with a newly constructed shopping centre, one of the largest in Denmark. Oh and you also find a luxury cinema, one of the largest in Denmark offering sofa-seats and Dobly Atmos audio. The downstairs activity-room is meant for sharing, and we may also happen to use the downstairs table tennis once a while (during day-hours) when not occupied by you as well as occupying another room downstairs. We just want you to know that there may be some sounds from down-stairs. But please, by all means, feel free anytime to tell us if it bothers you and we will respect your right to privacy.
