Woodski B&B - (room 3 of 4) Twin/Tripple Bedoom
'Woodski' is a bed-and-breakfast focused on great food and outdoor fun! It is a large house, barn and outbuildings with gardens which extend to the banks of the river Aube. The B&B is just 500m from Lac Amance and the Forest of The Orient Natural Park, in the heart of the boutique Champagne region. Please note that we have four AirBnB listings for the four family-sized bedrooms available. The following description is of the B&B as a whole! Inside the house are four large family bedrooms, each with a different bed configuration and space for extra beds as needed (please enquire!). There are two shared bathrooms: one with a bath, the other with a shower. Downstairs, there is also a cosy lounge with a TV, and dining rooms for when we don't eat outside. As well as staying in a traditional French maison, with excellent food served from our kitchen, we have plenty of fun outdoor experiences on offer… - Champagne tours (half day or full day) around the vineyards and farm producers with tasting opportunities a-plenty! - Fishing at the nearby lakes and in the river - Waterskiing and wakeboarding on Lac Amance - Waterski 'experience' for beginners, with ringos and wake surfing - River swimming - Guided walks and cycle rides, all off-road on forest trails and cycleways - Bicycle hire and repairs - Bird watching from a dedicated hide on the lake, and many species of migrating bird wildlife We offer guidance and tuition in all of the above. Some will attract an extra cost - please enquire! You will have access to the room(s) you have booked, plus the communal areas (shared bathrooms, dining room, lounge). The large outdoor patio space, and garden leading down to the river, are also open to all. Phil and Suzanne Wood own and run 'Woodski' and will look after everything about your stay. They will prepare your room(s), serve you breakfast, and provide any other meals you require. Breakfast comprises fresh produce from the bakery and fruit market nearby, and most evenings the BBQ is alight! Suzanne is an accomplished Cordon Bleu cook, specialising in allergen-free dishes and meals. Dienville is a small town in the heart of the boutique Champagne region. It is quiet in the winter and busy in the May to September period. It has a boulangerie, pharmacy and small store. At Port Dienville there are restaurants and bars with evening entertainment through the summer. As well as the list of outdoor experiences we offer above, the area comprises two other lakes for wildlife and for sailing, and a host of attractions from treetop walkways to the theme park at Nigloland. You can arrive by car, or we can pick you up from the railway stations at Troyes or Vendeuvre-Sur-Barse (both around 2 hours from Paris), but once you are here the best way to get around is by bicycle (available to hire!). We have started to renovate the property since, whilst charming, the decor is a bit tired. The barn and outbuildings will be undergoing more significant work so that we can offer even more to our guests in the future! However, we assure you that none of this will impact your stay with us. It might also be of interest that, although not a specialised triathlon training centre, there is abundant opportunity to practice open water swimming, distance cycling and trail running in the area. Each year the Dienville Triathlon at the end of July attracts hundreds of participants and spectators!
