Lovely flat just outside Hathersage.
The Loft is a lovely light and bright flat next door to our home and facing South across the Hope Valley situated just outside Hathersage. The Loft is self contained. Through the front door is a cloakroom area, ideal for muddy boots and wet coats after a day in the hills! Up the spiral stairs to the living space - a bright room looking out across the valley to the front and the stables at the back. There is a sofa and arm chair, TV with freesat and a selection of books and board games. The kitchenette is well equipped to prepare light meals with kettle, toaster, fridge (small freezer space), electric hob and microwave and all the necessary crockery and utensils. You will find tea, coffee and milk along with some breakfast bits to get you started when you arrive. Down 3 steps to the bedroom overlooking the stables and fields beyond with a king size bed, wardrobe and drawers. The en-suite has a shower, WC and wash basin. There is a seating area outside to enjoy the sun and surroundings. We do have WiFi but being rural means it isn't great - don't expect super high speed but it is ok for browsing, there is good phone signal and 4G. The Loft adjoins our home so we will be around and happy to assist where necessary. We do understand many people like complete privacy and respect this. We are 1/2 mile from the Hathersage village sign (1.2 miles from the station) with a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Bamford is 1 mile and then 3 miles to Hope with Castleton just beyond. A car is best to make the most of your visit but there is a bus stop at the bottom of our drive - be sure to check the bus timetable though as there aren’t many taxi’s if you miss the last one through the valley! 20 mins from Bakewell and 30 mins from Sheffield. We are just about walking distance to Bamford train station which takes you to Sheffield and Manchester. Plenty of walks from the doorstep. You do really need a car to make the most of a stay here although a bike would work (assuming you don’t mind hills!). We are part way between Bamford and Hathersage train stations both are around 1 mile and dark if you arrive in an evening. We are situated up a private drive off the main road and as with many properties in the lovely Hope Valley you may hear this and the train line in the distance. We are a working farm/smallholdings so you may see or hear animals, tractors and machinery. The flat overlooks the stables so you may well hear the horses. The spiral stairs are quite narrow - not suitable for large suitcases (although you could unpack in the hallway at the bottom!)
