The Chalet ~ Rural getaway, great access to Oxford

The Chalet provides comfortable and cosy accommodation for 2 people. It consists of an open plan living/kitchen area, separate bedroom, shower room and separate dressing room. Part of a recently renovated stable block, the accommodation is of high standard, lies on a direct bus route and is only 4 miles from Oxford city centre. Situated within grounds adjacent to the River Thames pathway and with the historic city of Oxford nearby, The Chalet is an ideal location for a relaxing break. Between April 1st and September 30th we now provide 'glamping' accommodation on the property, which has created a very warm and convivial atmosphere throughout due to the respectful and considerate nature of our glamping guests. Facilities for the glamping and the flat are, of course, completely separate. Due to the global COVID-19 situation, extra vigilance has been given to the cleaning and preparation of the flat for new guests, going beyond our already high standards. If you have any questions concerning the cleaning products we use or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask. Guests have access to 10 acres of gardens and water meadows leading down to the Thames Path and the River Thames where fishing is available in season. Opposite lies the ancient woodland of Wytham Woods. Outside the main gate is a direct and frequent bus route to the centre of Oxford, the ‘city of dreaming spires’. The world-famous university is only 15 minutes away. Within walking distance is Farmoor Reservoir, which boasts year round sailing and windsurfing as well as a wealth of wildlife to enjoy. Day passes are also available for trout fishing. Attractions nearby also include Blenheim Palace, the Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon and Bicester Village. London, Bath and Stonehenge are also within easy travelling distance. There are several public houses, restaurants and local shopping all within walking distance of the accommodation. The accommodation has a self check-in system so upon arrival you will find the keys waiting for you in the door. There will always be someone around should you need assistance (which may be myself or a family member should I be unavailable). Before you arrive you will be sent a simple map to guide you through the property towards the entrance of the accommodation, as well as other bits of useful information. The Chalet is situated within private grounds adjacent to the River Thames pathway. It's location is rural but not too remote as the nearby village of Eynsham is only a 2 minute drive away (or a 25 minute walk). The village is quaint and the residents are friendly and approachable. It has several lovely pubs, restaurants and cafes as well as a small Co-op right in the centre. For larger supermarkets, you would need to go more towards Witney or Oxford but most of what you'll need can be found in the village. Farmoor Reservoir is also nearby, which boasts year-round sailing and windsurfing as well as a wealth of wildlife to enjoy. Day passes are also available for trout fishing. There are also several lovely pubs within walking distance along the river. The S1 bus stops almost directly outside the property, runs every 20-25 minutes and takes approximately 15-20 minutes to reach Oxford city centre. Just walk out of the main entrance of the property, take a left, cross the road and you'll see the stop on the corner underneath some large conifers. If you would like to go towards the market town of Witney, you can catch the bus on the other side of the road. Oxford train station is also in close proximity and can be reached by catching the S1 bus. Other nearby attractions, such as Blenheim Palace, the Cotswolds and Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens are also very close, but are far easier to reach if you have access to a vehicle.
