In the beautiful village of Great Haywood, on the edge of Cannock Chase, a mountain biking heaven. Attached garage and mudroom make clean-up easy. The good sized garden with BBQ area means a peaceful place to relax in the summer. A 3 bedroomed, spacious, but cosy, house set in stunning, English countryside, nestled alongside a canal & a river. Very close to the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire County Showground, Alton Towers, Shugborough & a host of other tourist attractions. NON SMOKERS ONLY!! This property is not available to smokers. This is a three bedroomed (a king size bed, a double bed and a single bed), home-from-home in a lovely, quiet street on the very edge of the magnificent Shugborough estate and Cannock Chase. There is an attached, lockable garage to store bikes in, which has a rowing machine, static bike & some free weights in it, should you wish to exercise during your stay. The garage opens out into a mud/utility room. This makes it an ideal base for mountain bikers & hikers, as access onto the fabulous Cannock Chase, and its miles and miles of trails, is directly from the house; no need to load the bikes up into a car! We've provided a hose pipe for washing down of bikes, so you don't ruin your lovely paintwork, and plenty of drying space for wet clothes. The garden is a lovely, peaceful spot with barbecue area and seating. There is parking space for two cars on the drive and on road parking in addition We're blessed to be in some exceedingly beautiful countryside, but with very easy access to Stafford town and motorway/main roads. We're also very close to lots of great attractions, from Go Ape (10mins drive) to Monkey Forest and Trentham Gardens, the Potteries, the stunning, medieval, Cathedral city of Lichfield, the National Arboretum War Memorial, Drayton Manor and Alton Towers, all of which are brilliant days out. We're also just 10 minutes away from Stafford Showground, where many events and shows are held. For any history buffs out there, we're 5 minutes from an incredible, little, local church which boasts being the only Christopher Wren church outside London (so I'm told...)- what a ceiling! More locally, there's both a shop and a pub in the village, about a 4-5 minute walk away, and two pubs in the next village (perfect for a stop off on the way back from the Chase trails). Also, in the village is the Canalside Cafe which has a wonderful Farm Shop alongside, which sells fabulous local produce. My aim is to be a host who's here to help, as we live only a few doors up in the same street, and will be on hand for any help or needs you have . I really hope to help people have the very best holiday/stay that they possibly can! Please note, there is no WiFi but there is decent 4G signal for phones/dongle. Whole house, no shared spaces, garage and garden We live in the same street, a few doors up, and will be delighted to help with anything you need . We can be as much or as little present as you require. Great Haywood is a quiet and picturesque village with direct walking/cycling access, over the famous Essex Bridge, into the Shugborough Estate, where Lord Lichfield previously lived, and thence onto Cannock Chase. Within the village there is a pub, a Canalside Cafe and Farm Shop, a Spar, a pharmacy and the doctor's surgery. Local supermarkets are in Rugeley, a 5 minute drive away and Stafford, 12 to 15 minute drive away. Easy access to main roads out and about 13 minutes from the M6. The village also has a good bus service. Stafford and Rugeley Town or Rugeley Trent Valley are the nearest train stations, 15 and 10 minutes away. We ask that all the hiking and biking mud & wetness stays in the garage and mud/utility room, please. The only real house rules are respect it please, no shoes in the house and very definitely non- smokers only.
