Only 30 minutes from Stockholm city center and 50 meter to the sea, this renovated bungalow on a small car free island is the perfect getaway in the archipelago. Take a dip sunny days or read in front of the fireplace on cloudy or snowy days! A bungalow with 30 m2 indoor, an outside area under roof, and a garden with a table for summer dinners and bbq. The house is recently refurbished in a light scandinavian style. Best for 1-2 persons. If you have a small kid it might also work. From mid april spring is coming, the ferry opens up for traffic and we open up the house for you. Swedish summer than the water is swimmable and the sun is almost upp all days. Relax, read, swim or take walks and make canoe excursions. The autumns are great for combining Stockholm experiences with forest walks and cozy fires in the evening. Winter normally starts in November December, the ferry still runs traffic to the island and hopefully all is snowcovered. Combine island life with Christmas shopping and traditional concerts. Jan-march we have ice if we are lucky. If your keen for an icewalking experience please contact us and we'll open up for booking. The ferry will be starting running wintertime 2020 but until than we walk och take the snowmobile over the ice. There are canoes where you can paddle together. and there are also two old but functional kayaks with splash covers and safety-vests that you are welcome to borrow. If we are around we are happy to meet you and give you ideas where to go and what to do. However during the pandemic we will follow the local regulations. We are about 150 people living permanently on the island of Storholmen and we have lots of other friends that stay for part time of the year. Really a place to relax for yourself or together with a great friend. It´s a small island with some nice walking to explore the small houses and gardens and the mystery castle. Summer months june-september it´s nice to take a swim in the water. From end april to end october the fishing around the island is good for pike, perch and pikeperch. To do Most of our guest prefer to just relax for the first days and then they are of to discover. Stockholm - the Capital of Scandinavia, is on most of our guests agenda. Activities, museums, shops or the scandinavian cuisine. Old city or more relaxed Södermalm, roof walking, the Vasamuseum or Skansen are top visited attractions for our guests. The archipelogo. By kayak, rent a boat (motor or sailing) or take the archipelago ferries, really a world class experience. In summertime a stop in the archipelago hub Vaxholm is a popular day excursion. If you really want to get some serious fishing done we recommend Catch & Relax guided tours. Lidingö has some great forest and is the home of the worlds largest cross-countryrun Lidingöloppet. Easy access with 5 minutes ferry or boat ride. There are some museums such as the MIllesgården worth a trip if your into bronze sculptures. Some people enjoy walking Lidingö just to check out old and new architecture. Bogesund is our little wilder forrest 5 minutes to the east with boat or ferry. A nature reserve with trails, old oaks and castles. We spend a lot of time at Bogesund for chantarelles, flower watching as well as cross country running or mountain biking. If you are looking for water activities kayaking or canoeing around our Island is pretty good. The fishing is also of good quality in the waters nearby. If you are in for any other swedish experience we are quite good on them. I do some work with tourism experiences and might have some good ideas for you. If you get of from Arlanda Airport. Take the airport bus (cheapest) or Arlanda Express Train (fastest) to Stockholm Centralstation. Also possible to take the Commuter train 38 minutes to Stockholm Centralstation. From Skavsta AirPort take the airport bus to Centralstation and if you land at Bromma Airport get a airport bus or take a cab to central station. If you arrive by train you probably also will get of at the Central station. From the Centralstation you take the red subway to Ropsten or a cab. A slower but nice alternative is to take the ferry no. 80 from Nybroplan to Ropsten and then continue with next boat to Storholmen. From Ropsten just under the bridge going to Lidingö you get on the ferry to Storholmen. It takes about 25 minutes and departs 12-14 times a day.Timetable does change a bit during the year so make sure you have the latest info from the house manual. Get of att storholmen södra (7min walk) or Storholmen Norra (right by your house) Note. If you take a cab use "Taxi Stockholm" or Uber., safest and best price. If you arrive late check with us and we´ll help you find a good travel plan to the island. Our daughters run informal boat services. If you come by boat or kajak we have a jetty. (about 4 m depth) If you come by car, you can park at Lidingö (Mor Annas Brygga). The first parking lot to your right (48h than just repark the car for another 48h) Travel cost per person: Same ticket for buses, tubes, trams and ferries in Stockholm region. - One way ticket - 75min - 37 SEK - Full day 155 SEK - 72 hours 310 SEK - 7 days 405 SEK In Stockholm area the public transports are gathered under SL.se. Our restaurant Storholmen Sjökrog offers local basic and good cuisine and drinks. Offseason may-june and sept-may open most fridays - sundays, high season all weak except mondays. That´s where you´ll meat the locals and get to know the secrets of the island. Note that we live on an island and you can´t get here by car. The car can be either parked at Ropsten or at the Mor Annas Brygga or somewhere else. If you park at Mor Annas use the first guest parking to your right when you arrive. We don´t have a store on the island. If you like to stock up before arriving we recomend COOP at central station in Stockholm or if you have more time and want a better selection, Fältöversten at Karlaplan along the red subway line between Centralstation and Ropsten. If you arrive by car or prefer to take a cab there are some nice shops at Lidingö Centrum.
