Tranquil 2 bed cottage in a peaceful, rural location with private garden & sun terrace and outside seating. In the courtyard of my home, it has a spacious open plan living space, high beamed ceilings, a log burner & sunny conservatory. Year-round access to a heated indoor pool. Smart TV & free WiFi. Close to a range of sights and activities including the Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park Gardens, Bluebell Vineyard, Ashdown Forest, Glyndebourne, the South Downs, Wakehurst Place, the beach...! The Old Dairy is full of character - a self contained 2 bed (1 king and 1 twin) cottage with a private, secluded, sunny garden, a BBQ and garden furniture. Year round access to our indoor, heated swimming pool by prior arrangement with me (my family also use the pool). PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SWIMMING TOWELS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO USE THE POOL. Surrounded by beautiful rolling Sussex countryside, the cottage is in a peaceful, rural location and our cats, dog and free range chickens wander around the gardens, yard and fields. The cottage is perfect for families/couples/friends wanting to escape busy lives and relax in peaceful, rural surroundings. Although private and secluded, The Old Dairy is in the courtyard of my home where I have a young family so this is not somewhere for people who are looking to party/play loud music etc. Cosy in the winter with the beams and log burner and perfect in the summer with the sun-filled conservatory, private terrace and garden, and indoor swimming pool with glass doors down one side - the pool is our family pool so has pool toys/floats etc; it is lovely and light-filled but is not a smart spa-type pool! I provide crisp white linen, bath towels, , soap, hand wash, washing up liquid and j-cloths, bin liners and a couple of dishwasher tablets. I will also leave fresh eggs from our happy, organic, free-range chickens (subject to laying!!), milk, instant coffee, tea bags (regular and herbal) and sugar. I leave a bottle of sparkling wine for longer bookings. Salt, pepper and oils are also stocked in the kitchen. We are trying to create a more bio-abundant environment so we do minimal mowing and weeding - some people may find this a bit too rustic/scruffy for them...the garden is a lovely, wild, sunny spot to relax in but not if you prefer neatly mowed lawns and pristine borders! Child and pet friendly, I can provide up to two travel cots (with mattresses) and high chairs. The cottage is equipped with all children's cutlery, plates, cups etc. During colder months I will provide wood, kindling and paper for the fire for your first night and we have a store where you can buy more from us at cost price thereafter. The cottage is thoroughly cleaned between bookings and where possible I use natural cleaning products to minimise flushing harmful chemicals into the water system here. If you are someone who likes to stay somewhere smelling bleachy clean and looking like no one has ever lived here then this isn't the cottage for you! Guests have a parking space in the courtyard which leads to the cottage and your own, private garden. Also access to our heated indoor pool year round. Guests can access the cottage themselves and the key and a comprehensive manual will be on the kitchen table. We are on the edge of Ashdown Forest which spans over 6,000 acres and is a walker’s paradise. Sheffield Park Gardens is just down the road with its breathtaking scenery. For a great family day out, the Bluebell Railway is just around the corner. Wakehurst Place is about a 15min drive away, they often run innovative and fun activities for children but is equally well worth a visit for the Gardens alone. Lewes is a beautiful town about 20mins away. Lovely restaurants, cafes and a number of incredible antiques emporiums to rummage through. The South Downs are about 30mins away and are just stunning...endless rolling hills stretch out to explore. The lovely sussex coast is just beyond the downs. There are many brilliant pubs within about 10mins of the cottage. World famous Glyndeborne is about 25 minutes from us. We are pretty remote so car is the best option. There is parking at the cottage. Follow The_Old_Dairy_Sussex on Insta for more pictures and local tips
