Villa Birka is a newly renovated villa in the beautiful style from the 1800s. It is centrally located in Dalarö and has a magical view of the sea. The villa is about 175 square meters. On the main floor there is a hall, a bedroom with a double bed, a small bathroom with shower, a spacious and fully equipped kitchen, lounge with TV, a dining area and a veranda for relaxing connected to the outdoor sitting area. The upper floor has a hall with a balcony, a large bathroom with a washing machine, dryer and drying cabinet for clothes. It also includes a large lounge area with TV, a bedroom with a double bed and balcony. The house has a private veranda with outdoor furniture as well as a lovely garden that is shared with The Sea Cottage. Diagonally below the house is a public jetty. If you prefer sandy beaches, it is walking distance from the house. Close by the house you have the local supermarket, restaurants, bakery and other boutiques. If you were to get tired of all the sun and swimming, Dalarö offers a range of other activities such as golf, kayaking, kitesurfing, windsurfing, minigolf, and more! Dalarö is Haninge Municipality’s oldest town and originally the first port of call for boats making their way into Stockholm. The community originally worked around customs duty. Its location in close proximity to Stockholm has given Dalarö its exceptional characteristics. From once being the first port of call from sea before entering Stockholm, it has had various roles such as levying customs duties, to hosting the Swedish Navy with war on its doorsteps, to being a fashionable seaside resort for Stockholm´s high society. A lot of historical events have taken place in the waters around Dalarö. Predominantly, Dalarö steps forward in history during the 1600 as the first port of call when entering Stockholm and is recognized for its high level of customs duty activities during that time. Today’s Dalaro is largely characterized by the buildings that were added in the late 1800s. As society evolved it into a popular summer resort for locals and several famous artists and writers like Anders Zorn, Hjalmar Bergman, Strindberg and Verner von Heidenstams made their mark by living in Dalarö. The cultural and historical buildings are treasured and part of the national heritage. Dalarö, surrounded by Schweizerdalen (the Swiss Valley), Smådalarö (Little Dalarö) and nearby islands have a population of about 2,700 people. During the summer months, many tourists visit Dalarö.
