Thatched cottage is set down a pleasant country lane, where you can enjoy views over open countryside. A beautifully renovated cottage with cozy log burner, in the grounds of our home. There is parking for 2 cars and free Wi-Fi. Enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast basket each morning. We have 5 country pubs within a 2 mile radius, including our local a short stroll down the lane. The historic town of maldon is 5 miles and the scenic riverside town Burnham-on-Crouch 10 miles away. There is also a private courtyard garden which provides an outdoor seating area completly secure for your furry friend Private separate drive to cottage host lives on site Thatched Cottage is in the small rural village of Cock Clarks. The area is well served by footpaths and bridleways and great riverside walks. You’ll have the choice of five traditional pubs within a 2 mile radius, including our local pub The Fox & Hounds just a short stroll away. Maldon, 5 miles away is a lively former market town on the River Blackwater dating back to the Anglo-Saxon times and is famous, amongst other things, for its sea salt and the traditional Thames sailing barges which use Maldon as their home port. The town offers a range of shops and restaurants and leisure facilities including a swimming pool and the Promenade Park. Burnham-on-Crouch, 10 miles away is locally renowned for its maritime and sailing activities along with its oyster beds. This charming town is home to a rich heritage, with various boutiques, shops and a historic cinema. The picturesque waterfront with independently owned cafés and restaurants offers a perfect spot to sit on the quayside and look out over to RSBP's Wallasea island. Chartered boat trips explore the remote and deserted creeks full of estuary wildlife. The city of Chelmsford just 9 miles to the west with its mainline station, offers a very wide range of facilities including a bustling shopping centre, restaurants, theatre, cinema and ice rink. A little further afield you’ll find the popular seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea. Where you can ride the rollercoasters at Adventure Island, visit the sea life aquarium or take a stroll down the longest pleasure pier in the world. One well behaved dog allowed .
