Silo Barn - Secluded, rural luxe escape with views
Perfectly positioned on 13 private acres, Silo Barn is a unique curation of agricultural life, contemporary flourishes and English heritage. Flamboyantly decorated with one of a kind finds, Silo Barn is a 15 century stalwart lovingly reincarnated into a sumptuously rustic home. Nestled amongst 200 acres of fields, copse and historic springs, Silo Barn's only neighbours are the quintessentially British wildlife. Playfully named after the herculean blue silo that supported the barn’s once crumbling gable end, Silo Barn features luxurious, contemporary finishes, and a unique eclectic aesthetic. Nestled under Silo Barn’s 40 ft ancient oak canopy, is a super social living space including lounge, dining and a church pew bar, all boasting uninterrupted rural vistas. The kitchen, handmade using old stable doors, features premier appliances perfect for creating gastronomic dishes using Norfolk’s famed farm to table produce. Three dream inviting bedrooms each with bathroom ensuite, comfortably accommodate up to six guests, and are located away from living spaces. Sleeping Arrangements Three perfectly proportioned bedrooms, housed in what was once the sow stalls and lambing pens, filter off from the art lined hallway. Furnished with unique up-cycled finds and bespoke handcrafted furniture, each bedroom features a double bed dressed in plush linen certain to make your snooze out of this world, and blackout Roman Blinds to help decide if you want to wake with the sunrise or sleep in. Your sleep time sanctuary comes with its very own rural soundtrack, a soothing lullaby of hooting Tawny owls, barking Roe deer, and the romantic call of the Nightingale. The bedrooms are complemented by stylishly compact ensuite bathrooms, each with subway tiled showers, fast flow chrome rose heads, quirky basins, and industrial art deco mirrors perfect for the ultimate bathroom selfie. Historic The interior of Silo Barn is replete with carpenter assembly marks and protective witches markings etched into lime rendered walls. Interior walls are constructed from flint, wattle and daube, and bricks are left exposed. A canopy of oak beams and purlins add to the drama of the space. With the Barn’s water supply fed from St Agnes Well, a sacred spring on the grounds of the farm, quench your thirst and bathe with holy waters that once replenished 11th century pilgrims on their way to the Shrine of Our Lady in Walsingham. Silo Barn welcomes modern day pilgrims seeking a rural luxe escape to the country. The Grounds Approaching along our 1/2 mile tree lined track, you’ll pass cropped fields, grassy paddocks, woody copse and deep ponds filled with ancient spring water. The picturesque grounds are primarily left natural, providing a perfect environment for local wildlife, and offer opportunities for the pursuit of choice, be it meandering, meditation or active movement. The pond, with its iconic weeping willow tree, features a substantial jetty with a charming fruit cart, originally found on the farm entwined in brambles. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, our Spring is the farm’s water source, and is also a haven for wildlife, including deer, badger, fox, and assorted birdlife. There are enchanting areas around the farm where you can enjoy the dawn or dusk, and the night sky is absolutely spectacular, with twinkling stars in abundance!
