Tattenbach's room can accommodate 2 people. ✶HISTORY OF THE CASTLE✶ Originally known as Hörberg Castle, Podsreda was built in the first half of the 12th century while its first reference dates back not earlier than in 1213. The castle is located in the territory which belonged to the estate of the Breže-Seliški counts and countess Emma of Krka (Gurk) around 1000, and later to her monastery Krka (Gurk) and the Krka (Gurk) diocese. In the first half of the 14th century, the castle was bought by Friderik of Žovnek and remained in the possession of the Counts of Celje until their extinction. Afterward, it was a princely property. Measures: Double bed (180 x 200 cm) ☆Bathroom☆ The modern bathroom features a shower, a mirror with light, and a wide basin, where you can freshen up in the morning - fluffy towels with embroidered castle logo, shampoo, shower gel, and hand soap - all with natural ingredients! We also provide hotel sleepers, nail kit, and hairdryer. BUT FIRST, START YOUR DAY WITH A SPECIAL CASTLE BREAKFAST! Enjoy a special castle breakfast basket every morning during your stay with us. Coffee, tea, juice, fruits, cereals, yogurt, sandwich, croissants... THOROUGH CLEANING AND DISINFECTION Your safety is paramount. In addition to the meticulous cleaning, we make sure to disinfect all high-touch surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, cabinet handles, remotes, etc.). We use a hospital-grade disinfectant, approved and certified from the National Health Agency. At the Castle, you’ll be able to visit the permanent exhibition of paintings by France Slana, the permanent collection of glass from the former glassworks, the castle jail and kitchen and the cellar where you may see the presentation of the protected area of Kozjansko Regional Park, and the castle attic and galleries that host the exhibitions of renowned domestic and international artists. The renaissance hall also serves as an official venue for weddings. You will be greeted by a highly professional and welcoming staff member! The castle is located in the protected Kozjansko Regional Park, a region in eastern Slovenia, which is one of the oldest and largest protected areas in Slovenia. It represents a mosaic of the pre-Alpine Posavje Mountain Range, hills, and plains along the River Sotla. Visitors may go for a stroll in the immediate vicinity of the town by following the Podsreda footpath, which connects natural and cultural curiosities, or take a walk along the CASTLE PATH – an interactive castle biodiversity trail, which runs from the medieval town Podsreda, past the Levstik Mill on the Bistrica River and through the forest to the Podsreda Castle. All guests must provide an ID for registration purposes with the local authorities. That is demand under Slovenian law and applicable to all rental properties. Tourist tax is not included in the price and it has to be paid upon arrival. Price: 1.50 euro/person/night (18+ y) 0.75 euro/person/night (7 – 18 y) The fee is not charged for children under the age of 7. Castle breakfast is available for an additional cost (10 euro/person/day).
