Local area: The popular market town of Halesworth (just over a mile away) is centred around a pedestrian precinct with a wide variety of shops, pubs, banks, a library, arts centre and doctors’ surgery. The town is also well served with buses and even has its own railway station. Other places worth visiting are Aldeburgh (shops, restaurants and famous fish and chips), Thorpeness (has the “house in the clouds” and large mere with rowing boat and canoe hire), Southwold (with its pier) and Woodbridge (another lovely market town with a circular walk by the marina) Getting around: Halesworth Hopper - This is a community run bus that stops at the bottom of Lower Park Walk. The bus runs in and around Holton and Halesworth and includes Halesworth town centre, train station and doctors’ surgery.
