Sunset View Wilmington (New in March 2021)
Kick back in a new comfortable shephard's hut. Watch the wildlife and farm animals, gaze at distant Downland views, sit by a cosy fire pit at night. Go out for hikes and on your bikes! Updated super fast fibre broadband from October! Our brand new Shephard's hut offers stylish and comfortable accommodation which includes a spacious double bed, cleverly converting to a lounge seating area. A well equipped kitchenette includes a breakfast bar to take in the views. Two ring hob, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and all pots and pans, crockery, glassware etc. Please note that due to its compact size and lack of space there is no oven, but a microwave is available on request in advance. The toilet/shower room is integrated into the hut. The well insulated hut even has underfloor heating for chilly nights. A wooden deck to take in the views, includes table and chairs and outdoor area with firepit (wood at £10 a basket) Due to its compact size we will only accept bookings for two people (including children over 2 years old). Unfortunately currently dogs are not welcome due to the animals and nearby sheep grazing. The huts is all yours, along with the deck and fire pit. You are free to walk on the fields and say hello to our chickens, pigs, feral cats Bertie and Ronald (black&white, and a tubby, respectively) and Dexter the (very!!!) friendly Border Collie. Normally we are happy to chat and socialise. But at the moment we understand text may be best! If you do need anything, please do ask though!! Our peaceful old farmstead has just two neighbouring houses on a beautiful no through lane. The historic lane itself is actually the old Roman road between Pevensey and Chichester! Three village pubs are within 20 mins walk. There are also two tea rooms (Wishing Well and Arlington) even closer! Walks galore include to the Long Man and South Downs (40 mins), Arlington Reservoir (25 mins), Abbotts Wood (15 mins). Quiet lanes offer excellent road cycling, whilst the popular South Downs Way offers a long distance challenge. Nearby Friston Forest offer great mountain biking trails. Berwick station is a 40 minutes walk. A car is recommended or at least a bike. We have two pigs and a few chickens on the field. You may hear them a little but there shouldn't be any adverse smells! We also rent a holiday cottage in the old farm yard, well away from the hut.
