Enjoy the serenity of our recently renovated cottage in the gorgeous Sussex countryside. This vegan haven is surrounded by meadows and trees. Our finest suite, The Grey Roomis split level, with a private bathroom, a large and comfortable 2 m square emperor bed, ample clothing storage, wide screen smart TV, and views of the South Downs. You also have access to our large and beautiful sunny garden, veggie barbecue, wood fired pizza oven, a fully equipped kitchen, and pretty summerhouse. With the beautiful backdrop of the South Downs, and situated right at the bottom of a quiet, no through lane and surrounded by trees and meadows, this is the perfect place for anyone looking for a relaxing break in a vegan environment. Primrose Cottage is a lovely old timber framed house with a large garden which we recently renovated using recycled materials wherever possible. During renovations we installed solar panels to run our electricity, which also covers all our heating and cooking. We have always tried to leave as gentle a footprint as we can on this earth, so you will only find planet friendly products for your use in the kitchen and bathrooms, and we politely ask you to respect our vegan philosophies while staying here. With the pretty garden, cosy outdoor seating, a super comfortable Emperor sized bed (2m square)and a large private bathroom with rain head shower, you are sure to have a relaxed and peaceful stay. There is a good Wifi signal in your room and a smart TV and hairdryer. Your access into the annexe of our house where you will find your room is through a private door, shared between you and the other guest room only. Please note that the door to your suite is downstairs, as is your private bathroom but there is an internal wooden staircase up to the bedroom. This may be an issue for people with mobility issues and is unsuitable for young children. There is a small kitchenette in the house outside your room which is shared with you and one other guest room where you will find a fridge, sink, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery. Outside in the sunny garden there is a self catering kitchen diner, equipped with a mini oven, microwave, two ring electric hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, sink and dining table. This space is also shared with the one other guest room in the house. If you prefer to eat al fresco you will have the use of a sunny but covered deck area with dining table and four chairs, so even if there are other guests staying there are plenty of spaces for you to keep your privacy. A delicious vegan continental breakfast hamper is included in your booking, and we can supply a vegan packed lunch on request while you are staying here if you fancy a picnic. There's a veggie barbeque outside as well as a wood fired pizza oven which you are welcome to use. Charcoal and logs provided but we respectfully ask you, in line with our philosophies to not cook meat in the kitchen diner or the barbeque while you are staying here. For relaxing and in case of wet weather, there is also a lovely little summerhouse in the garden for you and the other guest room. With two squashy sofas and plenty of books and games, it's a lovely place to while away the afternoon. It's also super cosy in the evening with soft lighting and extra blankets to snuggle up in. We have our very own Pétanque pitch too (boules supplied) which is perfect to wind down in the evening with a drink after a hike, cycle ride, or a trip to buzzing Brighton. Please note that the address is not accurate, we are at the bottom of St Georges Lane but we will supply detailed directions upon booking confirmation. You will have access via a door shared with just one other guest, and then you will have private access to your room with a lock on the door. There is someone around most of the time so if you need any assistance or perhaps recommendations for local things to do, we will be happy to help. However, we will be equally as happy to leave you to enjoy an independent stay. Just shout if you need us. We are only a 10 minute walk across the meadow from the village, where you will find several lovely little independent shops including an artisan coffee shop, a green grocers, a florist, clothing and homeware, a charity shop, and three pubs. We also have a co-op, a deli and a bakery. There are lots of lovely villages around the area with country pubs and beautiful walks just waiting to be explored. A short walk through the adjacent meadow or through Millenium Gardens will lead you to the lovely local shops, pubs, and cafes that the village has to offer. Alternatively there is on street parking or a large free car park in the centre of the village, with easy access to the High Street. Located just 25 minutes drive from Gatwick Airport and only 15 minutes drive to Brighton and Hove beach we really are situated perfectly. With the South Downs being in view from the property, there are many beautiful walking and bicycle routes nearby and we can advise you should you request any recommendations. We are a 5-10 minute walk into the village and you can take the scenic route across the meadow or there is a more accessible way using the pavements and public footpaths. It is a 5 minute drive (we can help with lifts) or a 28 minute walk to Hassocks Train Station. From there, you can catch a Southern train to Brighton, Hove and the coast, or into London Bridge or Victoria via Gatwick airport. There is also a bus that will take you to Brighton or Crawley. Although there may be other guests while you are here and you will share some areas with them, there are lots of private spaces and seating areas so you can have plenty of privacy.
