Walnut Tree Lodge is a lovingly converted grade II listed coach house, and is a completely self-contained annexe in the garden of our recently renovated Georgian home. We are situated in the conservation area of a semi-rural village between Faversham and Canterbury. On arrival, guests will receive a basket of local goodies and enough provisions for breakfast the next morning. Beds are made and clean towels, hand soap and toilet rolls are provided. The annexe has a large well-equipped kitchen diner with doors leading to the garden and your own private patio; a comfortable lounge with a smart tv and lots of books and board games for the odd rainy day. There is also a downstairs family bathroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, one with a double bed, the other with 2 single beds plus an extra trundle bed if required. Parking is on the road outside. Guests have the entire lodge to themselves, their own private patio and shared access to the garden. There is a regular bus service to and from Canterbury and Faversham from where you can get trains and buses to London and coastal regions. The village also provides easy access to the M2 to London which takes about an hour by car. As the lodge is in our garden, we are on hand most of the time should guests require our assistance. Surrounded by the ancient woodlands of Blean, the lodge is situated in the village of Boughton-under-Blean, close to the historic city of Canterbury and the medieval town of Faversham, the oldest market town in Kent and home to Kent's oldest brewery, Shepherd Neame. There is a large recreation ground in the village and fantastic golf facilities, as well as several pubs and restaurants all within walking distance of the lodge. We are also close to many wonderful beaches, including the seaside town of Whitstable famous for its annual oyster festival every summer. There are also wonderful cycle routes nearby, along the coast and through woodlands, and the area is great for walking enthusiasts too - on clear sunny days, local walks provide far-reaching views out to sea . There is a regular bus service to Faversham and Canterbury and easy access to the M2 and London by car. There is also a high speed train service from Faversham and Canterbury to London. We are half an hour's drive from Eurotunnel Folkstone and just 20 minutes drive from Dover Ferry Port. Parking is on the road outside the front of the house. However, we can make space available on the driveway for guests to unload/load up on arrival/departure. Access to the lodge is on foot via the gated driveway. Please do not go to the front door of the main house.
