A stunning Grade II listed Tudor cottage with large enclosed garden on the North Norfolk coast. Watch the sun rise over the sea. 100m from the North Norfolk Coastal path with its dramatic cliffs and a 5 minute drive from quiet, wide, sandy beaches. The cottage is larger than average for this area and is well equipped as it is our holiday home. It is rural but also just 10 minutes from Cromer with its independent shops and cafes including Michelin starred chef Galton Blackiston's fish and chips! * Grade II listed brick and flint Tudor cottage * Recently renovated * Ample parking on the gravel drive in front of the property * Original tudor fireplace and four poster bed in the master bedroom (but not completely curtained). This spectacular fireplace is one of the main reasons that the property is protected with a Listed status. Please don't use it or light the candles! * Well equipped kitchen with two fridges, freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer, iron and ironing board and separate pantry. * Sea views from the third bedroom and from the garden * Large enclosed garden - dogs welcome! * Wood burning stove in the sitting room - basket of wood supplied for £10 (only two year seasoned wood may be burned in the stove.) * Flat screen TV with HDMI port ready for your Amazon Firestick. Alternatively there is a DVD player, so bring any favourite DVDs. * Or forget the TV - there are also games available and a piano and a guitar. * The garden has good seating space, a fire basket for chilly evenings and a BBQ. Pick the herbs, eat the strawberries. And no one will mind if you indulge in a little weeding! * Watch skylarks, swallows and pheasants in the garden as you sip your morning coffee... * On a clear night the sky is filled with stars - enjoy from around the fire pit! * Please note, the house is not suitable for toddlers or children between 2 and 5 years old. Babies and older children welcome. *Booking for July and August - minimum stay 1 week, changeover on Fridays. You'll have the whole house and garden to yourself. The house is nestled in a little hollow on the cliffs in a group of four other houses and barns. It is on the edge of the hamlet of Sidestrand, so it is rural. You will need a car - public transport is sparse. There are lots of things to do in the immediate area - my favourites are the wide, sandy, almost empty beach at Mundesley, the crab shack at Overstrand selling the best Cromer crab and lobster I've ever tasted, the Groveland Farm shop on the North Walsham road (fantastic for locally raised meat and vegetables). Cromer is a bustling seaside town with lots of independent cafes and restaurants. My favourite is Hot Rocks on Garden St for the seafood platters but the most famous is probably No. 1 Cromer, the brainchild of Michelin starred chef Gordon Blackiston, whose fish and chips have been featured on TV. You can walk to Cromer along the coastal path and beaches, keeping an eye open for chunks of amber on the way. The amber is a relic of the ancient forests which covered the area which subsequently became the North Sea after the Ice Age. The walk takes about two hours. As I say, you will need a car. But taxis from Cromer to the house cost about £8.00 if you want a night out. The North Norfolk coastal path is just across the field. It is best to drive about half a mile down the road towards Mundesley and park opposite Woodlands Park. A winding track takes you past a copse and onto the path from there. The negatives: You will need a car There are dogs next door who might bark at you This cottage is remote so the TV signal is unreliable. Use an Amazon Firestick if you have one and all will be well Also - because of the remoteness the mobile signal is a little scrappy - best to use the wifi. Or do a digital detox...
