Satzvey Castle, Room 7

This room is rustically furnished with 2 single beds. It was the former hunting salon of the family and is decorated with generations of private hunting trophies. It is named in memory of the early deceased Dietrich Count Wolff Metternich zur Gracht. This room is named after Dietrich Count Wolff Metternich zur Gracht, uncle of the current lord of the castle. Its collection of hunting trophies gives this room a unique feeling and charm of bygone times. Count Dietrich was the elder brother of the mother of the current castle owner and was the deigned universal heir to castle and all adjoining properties. He fell at an early age in World War II. His nephew, Franz Josef Count Beissel von Gymnich then inherited the castle and still is the current owner. Bath and WC are shared with room 7 and easily accessed across the hall. The ample castle grounds have various restaurants as well as the "Brasserie", which serves a typical German breakfast (not included).
