'Holly Berry' is a cosy holiday hideaway in the picturesque Nottinghamshire village of Wellow. Please note that Holly Berry is only bookable for a maximum of two people. It is equipped with kitchenette (mini-fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster but no oven or hob), shower/washroom, small double sofa bed, mezzanine level with double mattress, wood burning stove, television and private outdoor seating area with bike lock-up. Two village pubs within 100 yards serving home-cooked meals. Holly Berry is a converted Blacksmith's workshop, originally belonging to Rufford Abbey, in the heart of Sherwood Forest. The mini-cottage boasts a log burner (logs supplied) - ideal for relaxing after a day exploring Sherwood Forest. There is a bike rack attached to the wall in the private patio seating area, suitable for storing two bikes. The 800 year old village church, St. Swithins, is located at the bottom of the garden of the main property, and can be seen from the cottage. Thursday night is bell-ringing night - a perfect chance to experience life in an English country village! Holly Berry is located in the village of Wellow which boasts a picturesque village green with a permanent maypole and two friendly village pubs, The Red Lion, serving delicious home cooked food and real ales, and The Maypole bar and bistro, serving delicious cooked breakfasts, coffee, cocktails and gourmet meals is situated in the heart of Sherwood Forest, only a short distance from Sherwood Pines, Rufford Abbey, Thoresby Hall, Newstead Abbey, Clumber Park and Center Parcs, making Holly Berry the ideal base for exploring everything the area has to offer. Sherwood Forest is renowned for walking and cycling. There are two supermarkets two miles away in New Ollerton. Holly Berry is totally self contained so interaction with guests is minimal in order to respect your privacy . Access to the property is gained via a key-safe so guests can check in and out at their convenience. However, we are happy to help whenever necessary, and always supply our guests with a 24 hour contact number. Wellow is an extremely friendly and picturesque village with an 800 year old church, a village green and a unique history of maypole dancing. We are ideally situated in the heart of Robin Hood country in the centre of many local attractions: Newark, a beautiful historic town only 12 miles from Wellow. Please note that the mezzanine level is accessed by a purpose-made ladder.
