Set within the picturesque village of Castleton, in the heart of the beautiful Peak District, Newly fitted, comfortable ground floor apartment set within our large detached home. One en suite bedroom and a light, spacious living room and kitchen provides comfortable living for 2 people. Central heating and SMEG modern wall fire provide for cosy evenings complete with Smart TV / SKY and WiFi. Espresso coffee machine included with supply of beans for the ultimate cappuccino! Guests have their own private entrance into our house, with a front door key and another separate key to the apartment just inside. We have a large garden with fabulous views up to the ridge and a small river at the bottom which you are more than welcome to wander down and sit with a glass of wine! We also have large cellars which provide secure storage for bikes or similar and can offer off road parking around the back of the house. My husband (Stuart) and I are very friendly and love to chat to our guests. We will always help out wherever possible with advice, information, or if you need to borrow anything. We also respect your privacy, so our separate entrance into the house means you can come and go as you please. Castleton is a picturesque and historic village set within the beautiful landscape of the Peak District. It is famous for its Blue John mining history and has four show caves. The beautiful village has six pubs, cafes, shops, general stores, a post office and visitor centre. Peveril Castle overlooks the village, which is a mecca for both walkers and cyclists wishing to enjoy stunning hill walks and numerous off-road bike routes. Winnats Pass, leading out of the village, is recognised as one of the best cycling hill climbs in Britain. Regular bus service to Sheffield and other towns including Bakewell. An hourly train service from Hope (1 mile) will take you into Manchester (55 mins) or Sheffield (25 mins). Off road parking for one car at back of house. We are about an hour away from Manchester Airport. We have extensive knowledge of the surrounding countryside, including suitable cycling (on and off-road) and walking routes. If you are travelling on public transport we are more than happy to come and pick you up from the train station at Hope or drop you off when you leave.
