Private annexe in a pretty Cambridgeshire hamlet
Foul Anchor is a small hamlet situated in Cambridgeshire on the immediate borders of Norfolk and Lincolnshire on the wash. Our accommodation is formally an washroom outhouse that has been refurbished to provide a small annexe comprising of a double bedroom with a small ensuite shower room with a small sink, toilet and heated towel rail. The bedroom has a double bed with a new memory foam mattress, a large cupboard with a tv There is a kettle for you to make tea/coffee and a small fridge, microwave and toaster. And a selection of complementary breakfast snacks for you to help yourself to in the room. Please be aware there is a connecting door to the main house and this will be locked during your stay but you may sometimes hear us as this is our home. Just be aware we also have a dog you might hear. On your patio area there is a bench table for you to use, but we do ask that you consider our neighbours regarding noise levels please. Our guests have their own private access to the annexe via a side gate leading the annexe and patio area Guests have off road parking available I am usually around if you need anything, please give a knock on the front door or call my mobile if I am not. The room will be sanitized between guests and social distancing observed at this unusual time. The key can be collected from me or left in an agreed place for you to access. We have pretty riverside walks from the property, with good fishing on the River Nene and the North Drain as well as excellent bird watching opportunities. The local towns of Long Sutton and Sutton bridge, both within 5 to 10 minutes drive, have numerous pubs and cafes serving food, there are also some takeaways should you wish to bring food back. Please note it can be very dark here at night and bringing a torch might be a good idea. We are within easy reach of the Sandringham Estate (about 30 minutes drive) or travel a little further to explore the north Norfolk coast including Hunstanton, Wells and Cromer. Or you can drive into Lincolnshire to visit Spalding and the Springfields shopping village as well as numerous pretty villages. Its an easy drive into Peterborough, with its ancient cathedral, Nene Park and excellent shops. The double bed is next to the wall on one side so if you have mobility issues you may have a problem with this and the accommodation may not be suitable for you.
