The Guards room, secluded Station House, nr Selby
The Guards room, an airy modern double bedroom with en suite in a lovely converted railway station with its own entrance. Situated on the outskirts of the rural village of Drax. The house is secluded and sits within 2.5 acres surrounded by trees. You will have the benefit of a shared breakfast room with complimentary cereals, toast & pastries. There is also an outside space for you to relax in. We live on the property and between us we have 40yrs of hospitality experience. 1 of 2 rooms available We are a very busy family and have a number of animals so we will be regularly working on the property but we wont interfere with your stay. You will have your own entrance to your bedroom and breakfast room separate to the main house. We also have plenty of private parking on the property. We also have a similar room available to book if you are part of a larger group or family off the same landing. There is a breakfast room for you to have breakfast with kettle microwave toaster and fridge, from this room you will also be able to access a garden area for you to relax in. We live in the main Station Master's house so there is normally someone around to help if you need something or just want to chat. There is a wonderful welcoming pub in the village called the Huntsman, serving evening meals and wide drinks range, also Drax golf club is a 3 min walk from the house which serves an excellent Sunday lunch and food every night they also have regular entertainment. Carlton towers is also just a short drive away and there is a taxi service based in the village. We are well situated for easy access to the M62, A1 & M18 and only 50 miles from Bridlington. There are some lovely walks around the village and Barlow nature reserve is just a 7 min drive. Selby is just a 10 min drive, Xscape and Junction 32 outlet village 25 mins drive and York designer village 30 mins York itself is just a further 10 mins away.
