Beautiful, stylish & cosy gite in Normandy, France
A self-contained tranquil gite. This beautiful 'Petite Maison' is set in the stunning national park, Le Perche & is a perfect place to come & stay to relax & unwind. The house was built in 1845 and has been lovingly restored to it's magnificent best. It is situated in a small, quiet village. It is a 5 minute drive to Mortagne-au-Perche. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 newly refurbished bathroom with Italian style shower. There is a slower pace of life here, a place to unwind, relax and recharge. La Petite Maison is perfect for a couple or a small family. There is everything you need, with a fully fitted kitchen (2-ring hob, small oven, large fridge/freezer, toaster, filter coffee maker, microwave, food mixer), a large and airy open-plan sitting room with newly-fitted woodburner, a window seat (perfect for curling up with a book or just admiring the view), TV and new comfortable beds. Guests are welcome to explore the grounds of the main house, just let us know if you'd like a tour! Guests have private access and will be able to park their car on the property. The gite is situated on the grounds of the main house (a large 'Maison de Maître or Manor House). The main house is our family home, where we live with our 5 year old daughter (Viola - she speaks French and English), our 6 year old dog (a german shorthaired pointer) and our two cats. We are on hand should our guests need us, but otherwise we leave guests to enjoy their holiday. *please note, due to Covid-19, we have temporarily moved back to the UK. Our friend and colleague, Bemi, is now living in the main house with her little dog, Jackie, and will be happy to help you during your stay.** La Petite Maison is situated in Southern Normandy near the National Park, 'Le Perche', which is known for it's outstanding beauty. There is a slower pace of life here, a place to unwind, relax and recharge. The village itself is very quiet, with no shops or bars. However, there is a larger town - Montagne-Au-Perche, which is 5 minutes drive away and has all the amenities, including restaurants, cafés, bars, bakeries, supermarkets and boutiques. There is a beautiful market every Saturday. We are 5 mins from the 'Voie Verte', which is excellent for walking or cycling. The capital of the department (Orne), Alençon is 25 minutes drive from the house. It is a larger city, with a beautiful cathedral and is famous for producing lace. It is preferable to have your own car during your stay. The spiral staircase is steep, please see the photos.
