Perfect for the city dweller looking to escape. 1 hour to Zion. You will have privacy, excellent wifi, stunning views, and a grocery store & brewery nearby! Enjoy the solitude of our private canyon via car, hike or mountain bike! Fully stocked kitchen and home. Just bring your clothes and favorite toiletries! Enjoy the garden & goats, fresh eggs daily & gorgeous sunsets. Relax on the deck & grill steaks, sip wine by the campfire or snuggle up with a movie in the bedroom. It’s all here! Every part of the"Rainbow Shackteau" (aka "The Shack") has been hand finished with detailed craftsmanship. From the spacious deck made from industrial pallets to the vintage tin wainscoting, the space is as unique as the ranch itself. In the morning you can feed our friendly goats just a short walk from your porch, or enjoy a full breakfast of free-range eggs and fresh milk. (Breakfast items provided and essentials are stocked for stays less than 1 week. For longer term stays, since discounts are offered, you are welcome to use what we provide initially but we will not be restocking). We also provide coffee, tea, essentials, and everything we can to make the shack feel like home. We have been AirBnb hosts since 2016 and love meeting our guests and offering them a unique experience. You will have your access to our private canyon (sometimes access is limited when cows are grazing) and garden in season. You have your own private parking area, deck, and access to a shared laundry room. Although we love to visit with guests, we will respect your privacy. If you want to sit around the campfire or walk a hike, we are up for it! If you would prefer that we simply be available for questions, we totally understand. Our home is located just a couple hundred feet from the shack. We are usually around if you need anything and if not we can be reached through AirBnb or by phone. NOTE: The Shack is in "Cane Beds, AZ", 30 minutes away from "Fredonia, AZ". AirBnb automatically sets the location as "Fredonia" because we share the same zip code. We are just a few minutes away from shopping and restaurants. We live in a safe and respectful rural neighborhood. Neighbors here watch out for each other and we will do the same for you. We have lived here for 20 years and cannot remember a single crime being committed in the neighborhood. Emergency responders are here within minutes of being called if necessary. There are cows, horses, and mini-farms and ranches all over. We hope you love the beauty of our rural area. Some places you might want to visit: ~Coral Pink Sand Dunes- 9 miles ~Gooseberry Mesa-15 miles ~Grand Canyon North Rim- 89 miles ~Water Canyon- 10 miles ~Pipe Springs- 15 miles ~Kanab, Utah- 43 miles ~Kolob Reservoir via Kolob Terrace (Heavenly Valley)- 63 miles ~Hurricane, Utah- 30 miles ~Sand Hollow State Park- 40 miles ~Zion National Park- via Smithsonian Butte 28 miles ~St. George, UT- 48.4 miles ~Zion National Park- via highway 50 miles ~Bryce Canyon- 90 miles ~Lake Powell- 105 miles ~Page- 110 Miles ~Antelope Canyon- 120 miles ~Las Vegas- 168 miles Car or truck is the only way to get around in these parts. :) The Shack is located in CANE BEDS, AZ, a small rural community with beautiful views. AirBnb automatically sets our location as Fredonia because we share the same zip code. Although this means you will be further from the north rim of the Grand Canyon, you will be 30 minutes closer to Zion, Bryce, and the Coral Pink Sand Dunes! AN IMPORTANT NOTE TO OUR GUESTS: The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is closed from December 1st-May 1st. The only ways to visit the GC during this time is through the "Desert View" or South Rim. Both of these locations are approximately 4 hours from from the cabin. During the open season from May 1st to December 1st we are 90 minutes from the north rim. We live in a rural area on a ranch and farm and have many animals and pets. Some are penned in and some free-range like our chickens and dogs. You may hear our dogs barking in the middle of the night or a rooster crow. You may hear coyotes laughing and yelping. We welcome you as our guests and try to be as accommodating as possible. However, farm life happens...:) Please try to be patient if unexpected issues arise during your stay. We are always open for recommendations and comments/suggestions and strive to offer our guests a wonderful experience here. We do have bugs in our area! Flies in the summer, daddy long legs throughout the year, sometimes wasps and bees, lots of moths in the summer nights. Although we do our best to keep them at bay, you may see them hanging around. In the wintertime you may have an encounter with mice. We do our very best to be vigilant to keep the cabins mouse free but occasionally they find ways to get in. If you see a mouse please alert us immediately so we can take care of it. We also have rattlesnakes in the area, please be careful and watch out! (We usually only see one or two a year, at the most. We just like to caution people.)
