2 rooms in character farmhouse with breakfast.
We live in a characterful four hundred year old farmhouse situated on a hill top. We are in a quiet location with spectacular countryside views and are only ten minute walk downhill to the village. The property enjoys walking trails right from the front door along quiet county lanes. Due to covid concerns, we strictly follow the Airbnb 5 Step cleaning regime and also provide extra antibac spray, wipes and gloves in both guest and communal spaces. All guest areas are cleaned in full PPE. For a family of three people: We have one bright and airy double room and also a cosy single room . Both have wifi, TV, tea/coffee facilities and have lovely countryside views. Guests have sole use of their own spacious modern family bathroom with large modern shower and slipper bath, WC and washbasin (Website hidden by Airbnb) We provide a simple continental breakfast of cereal, toast, fruit and yogurt. Guests are also welcome to use the kitchen, equipped with microwave, fridge, oven and toaster, in order to prepare their own meals and snacks. Due to covid -19, guests will have their own cutlery, crockery and hand towels etc in the kitchen. There will also be antibac spray and gloves in the kitchen. We kindly ask guests to wipe down any high touch surfaces after use. There is a kitchen table to eat at, or you may wish to eat "al fresco" at the tables in one of our two gardens . We have a patio at the front of the house to catch the morning sun and a garden table with chairs in the back garden to catch the afternoon sun. These are areas solely reserved for guests. We kindly ask guests to please not eat meals in the bedrooms, but to make use of the kitchen facilities provided downstairs. Guests will be able to access the kitchen for their own use, for preparing drinks and meals. They are also able to use the washing machine and dryer in the laundry room and also use the gardens for outdoor seating or dining. As already explained, guests will have sole use if teo garden sitting areas, either for dining alfresco or just for enjoying a coffee. Claire and Janet look forward to welcoming you on arrival and we will be more than happy to recommend places to eat or things to see and do in the area. We also have numerous walking books and maps, for guest use. Arrival times can be flexible, if prior arrangements are made, but we generally prefer late afternoon from 3pm on wards, as we are usually at work. We normally ask that guests kindly vacate their room by 11am, but again, this can be flexible, if prior arrangmements are made. We are set in stunning scenery, on the edge of a delightful village. We are very proud of the fact that our village won the Calor Gas Community village of the year award in 2005. This is reflected in the friendly, warm and active village in which we live. The village has a parish church, three pubs which are popular for meals and lovely riverside and hill walks around. We have walking trails right from the front door of the property into the surrounding countryside. We have walking maps and guide books for guests to use during their stay. We are situated approximately 20 minutes drive from Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth. We are about 20 minutes from and junction 28 of the M1. Public buses do run from the village centre to adjacent towns and there is also a nearly bus route between Matlock and Chesterfield. We do have rather steep, shallow stairs. There are also a few low beams in the property that tall people need to be mindful of. There are also other steps located around the property. We have two cats, incase anyone is allergic to pets.
