Within half an hour in the other direction takes you to Robin Hood Country including; Newstead Abbey, Wollaton Hall and Nottingham Castle. Tibshelf is a quite village, once the site of the UK's first inland oil well, Lime Trees is well situated for all the local amenities including several pubs, Post Office, Co op, family butchers, Take Aways and a petrol station. Easy access to the M1 and the rail network is within 5 miles, local bus stop 2 minutes walk away. Great walks and cycling routes nearby.
