Lovely townhouse near Silverstone&Bicester Village
Once the Duke of Bridgewater's 'Hunting Box' this lovely old Georgian building, opposite the National Trust Park in the heart of Brackley, is the perfect place for a relaxing stay. The town centre, with it's shops, pubs, restaurants and renowned antiques centre, is a short walk away. Situated near good road and rail networks, London, Bicester Village, Warwick and Oxford are easily accessible. A good Full English breakfast is available for an extra £9.50pppn. Dietary needs can be catered for. The guest suite comprises: a large master double bedroom (which has a host of original Georgian features including maid’s bell and a fireplace sadly, both, no longer working) and a good sized ensuite shower room. If an extra bed is needed for a relative or child OR if there are two in your party and you don’t want to share a bed, we have a cosy single room available, (see pics) which is next to the master bedroom. Please note: Anyone using the single room will access the ensuite and refreshment facilities (day or night) of the master bedroom. We ask an extra £20 pppn for use of the single room. If the single room is required AS WELL AS the main double room (i.e. you have 3 people in your party OR there are just 2 of you NOT wanting to share the main double room with one double bed), PLEASE BOOK FOR 3 GUESTS at 'checkout' stage. This will then confirm to me, use of the single room in the booking details and you will be able to add the additional fee of £20pppn for that room to your payment. Thank you. Breakfast, if required, is served in the dining room and guests are welcome to access the garden. Our style is relaxed and informal. We will be on hand if there are any queries or if you need any recommendations. Please feel free to ask! If you require restaurant recommendation/booking prior to your visit, please ask. Happy to contact the restaurants and get bookings in place. Brackley is a place of interest. It has one of the oldest chapels linked with Magdalen College Oxford and was once a wool trading market town. We have the well known Brackley Antique Cellar as seen on 'Antiques Road Trip' - a fabulous centre boasting 170 different dealers and a selection of shops including: a good book shop, Boots the Chemist, award winning Butcher and a lovely womens' clothing store. All are a short walk away. There are a number of pubs serving food, good restaurants including: Indian, Italian and Spanish Tapas and takeaways - fish & chips, pizza and Chinese, all within the town. Please ask for recommendations and details (i.e. phone numbers) prior to your visit so you can book somewhere for food...the restaurants do get busy! We are opposite the Town Park which boasts a lovely children's play area with access to the Old Fire Station Cafe. Local buses run regularly to Banbury, Bicester and the designer outlet Bicester Village, (a 20 min car drive away), and there are good rail and road networks to London, Oxford, Birmingham, Leamington, Stratford and Warwick. We are perfectly located for the British Grand Prix and other events at Silverstone by being a short 8 min drive away. As we are on the High Street, parking is roadside. This is where we park too! We do not have access to off road parking. Sometimes it can get busy but there may be alternative parking down Pebble Lane, opposite. Usually, places become free on the High Street after 6pm.
