Family-friendly resort on the Mississippi River—Private Dock/ Public Boat Launch

Welcome to the Mississippi River Retreat in Buffalo City, Wisconsin! New in 2020 complete resort rental available for larger groups! See photo gallery and call to inquire about pricing. If you choose to rent out the entire resort, it will include both cabins (sleeps 12-13 total), exclusivity to the large outdoor seating area under the beautiful White Pine trees, firepit, BBQ grill, private dock, and a large yard for outdoor games. *Please note that the cabins rent individually, and the rates listed on the calendar are per cabin per night). Discounts may be offered if you are renting both cabins for a group larger than 6-7 people. When looking at the calendar, please contact us even if the dates you're interested in booking are already blocked/reserved. Oftentimes it is only one of the cabins that is reserved, and the other cabin may still be available! It doesn't hurt to ask :) The Summer Shanty is our 2 bedroom cabin (reserved for guests with 4 to 7 people in their party). Located less than a 1/4 mile from a public dock, this cabin has its own private dock (potentially shared with other renters if you do not rent both cabins) directly across the street on the beautiful Mississippi River. Bring your fishing boat, ski boat, or jet ski and dock it for the weekend (or week!). This cabin sleeps up to 7 people (2 people to a bed), and has 2 bedrooms both with queen size beds. There is a sofa sleeper in the living room that pulls out to a queen size bed, and a twin size futon in the bonus room. The living room has a cozy gas fireplace, and also has a flat screen TV and Netflix, Hulu, Roku available. It is located right off the kitchen which is a full size kitchen complete with fridge, dishwasher, range, microwave, and coffeemaker. The kitchen peninsula has two bar stools and is open to the living room. Just off the kitchen and living room area is another TV room perfect for kids (bonus room) which also has a futon that folds down into a full size bed. This room also has a kitchen table that seats four. Use it for eating or playing games. The beautiful and scenic 3-season room is just off the game room and has a beautiful view of the back yard (see pictures!). There is also a quaint front porch perfect for having your morning coffee and taking in the view of the river. Our slightly smaller 1 bedroom cabin can sleep up to 6 comfortably (2 to a bed). The bedroom has a queen size bed, and there are 2 large pullout couches in the main living area. This cabin has a more modern feel, with open concept living. There is a fully stocked kitchen with a dining table, and all the amenities of home (full size stove/oven, full size fridge and dishwasher, etc). There is a large screen tv and internet available as well. This cabin sits next to the slightly larger cabin, and there is a shared grill and outdoor fire pit with seating.
