Toftcombs is a truly beautiful country mansion with views across the stunning Scottish countryside, yet only 30 minutes from Edinburgh. This Baronial style red sandstone house, is nestled in 10 acres of private grounds, providing elegant surroundings with all the luxury and comfort of a stately home. Sleeping up to 25 guests, within 11 individually decorated bedrooms. Toftcombs is the perfect location to celebrate with family and friends. Please enquire for more information about weddings.  The beautifully furnished home has a relaxed and comfortable country house feel with a modern twist, providing a spacious haven for family and friends to enjoy memorable times together. The house includes a full size snooker table and music room, as well as a 5 a side football pitch. There is everything for everyone, exclusively for you.  We can also give you more information on catering and group activities throughout your stay. Toftcombs is Pet Friendly and will exceed all your expectations. We allow Hen & Stag parties, as well as weddings. Please enquire for more information! You will receive exclusive use of the whole mansion house and its 10 acres of private grounds. Either myself or our housekeeper will meet you on arrival to show you around and get you settled in. You will have exclusive use of the property, however if you need to contact us then you can via email or telephone. We will get back to you as soon as possible! A short walk away (10 minutes) you will find the town of Biggar which has a range of restaurants, cafes and pubs- such as The Crown Pub, The Taj Mahal (Indian restaurant- who can also cater at the house) The Coffee Spot and The Olive Tree Cafe. The local area also has lots of interesting walks, bike rides, horse riding, several world class links golf courses nearby, fishing and an award winning health spa at Stobo castle. There is a bus which can transport you from Biggar town (1/2 mile from the house) to Edinburgh City Centre. This usually takes 1.5 hours and is between £5-10 one way. The bus runs hourly Monday- Saturday and every 2 hours on Sunday. Coaches or Taxis can also be booked. At Christmas the house is decorated throughout with a 10ft Christmas tree and trimmings and guests are welcomed with warm mince pies and champagne.
