We are at the end of a quiet country lane - perfect for walkers, cyclists and couples wanting a peaceful break. Downstairs is a kitchen/diner with a small oven and hob, fridge, freezer plus a microwave. There is a separate toilet and a shower room with soaps and shampoo provided. Upstairs is a beautifully oak beamed bedroom with a comfortable bed with a memory foam mattress and a window seat for looking out at the fields and horses beyond. There's a smart TV with freeview and access to your own Netflix account. Games, puzzles and books are provided for those rainy days. The ceiling is sloped and low in places! Large driveway with electric gates and parking for many cars. You have your own entrance and use of the totally self contained annexe. Use of large garden and separate garden space overlooking a horse field and beautiful sunsets. With little light pollution you can enjoy stargazing and even spot a few owls or bats. We are in a friendly, quiet neighbourhood at the end of a country lane leading to woods but within easy walking distance to the village or bus stops if you'd rather not drive. The annexe is ideally situated for a peaceful stay in the countryside and to visit the numerous National Trust properties, the Bluebell Railway, Glyndebourne, Plumpton Racecourse, The South of England Showground, the High Weald AONB and the Sussex coastline and of course Brighton. The annexe is detached from the main house across the garden so you can be completely private but we are available if needed. Newick is a small village with a quintessentially English village green and 11th century church. We are close to the South downs way and the Ashdown Forest - great for walking and enjoying the stunning views and countryside. The village has 3 pubs, a fantastic cafe/cake shop aTandoori restaurant. There is a butcher, bakery and convenience store as well as a pharmacy. We are just outside of the village so lovely and quiet but it's an easy (and pleasant) walk to work up an appetite! Newick has a fantastic bonfire celebration every year on the Saturday before the 5th of November (think Lewes bonfire but smaller!) We have a large drive so no problem with parking and there is plenty of free parking in the village itself. We are in a rural area so a car is needed for off the beaten track trips but at the top of the lane (5 minute walk) is a bus stop offering direct access to Haywards Heath, Lewes and Uckfield which have train links to London (and Brighton) if needed. Please note bus times as they can be irregular (especially at weekends!) We can provide taxi numbers if needed. We have a friendly cocker spaniel who likes to play and two cats who can be a little inquisitive and may pop in to say hello! We have children staying with us in the main house between 8 - 6 Monday to Thursday so you may hear happy laughter in the garden but at the weekend we are children free!! Please be aware of low ceiling height in bedroom!
