Matlock town is a 15 minute walk down the road, but takes longer to walk up as it is a steep hill, with additional local shops 5 minutes away on Smedley Street - including 2 bars - real ale, and a delicatessen The local tourist attractions of Matlock Bath, historic Cromford, the market town of Bakewell or the spa town of Buxton and the stately homes of Chatsworth House or Haddon Hall (my favourite) are all on the local bus routes. Lea rhododendron garden is always worth a long walk to if visiting between March and July. It has a lovely cafe too Local leisure facilities at the Arc in Matlock including a swimming pool Crich tramway museum is a good day out for kids and enthusiasts alike. I've put various leaflets in the living room that you can browse at your leisure and I have produced a guide book. If you want more suggestions for what to do just ask! I try to greet guests but there is a key safe for access too. You can access the whole of the house apart from the cupboard on the first floor landing.
