You can get together around the huge island kitchen & dining table... or find a quiet corner in the large L-shaped lounge or many outdoor areas. In the centre of a quiet, rural, french village, this beautifully restored cafe has been transformed into the ultimate in chilled living, yet only 6 kms from shops & restaurants, 40 minutes from the stunning Opal coastline & 50 minutes from Arras. At one end of the house, a double and twin room share a shower room, and upstairs, another double room plus triple single room share a bathroom. There is an additional toilet downstairs. Your host lives just 1km away in case you have any problems. Vieil-Hesin is a small, but historically significant village just over an hour drive from the Eurotunnel and port of Calais. In nearby Hesdin (6kms), you will find supermarkets, restaurants, a cobbled town centre with boutiques and cafes - and a fabulous market on Thursdays. You will need a car to get around as there is little to no public transport. It is an ideal region for biking (e-bikes can be hired, please ask). There are plenty of forest walks and miles of stunning sandy coastline. We are approx one hour from cities like Boulogne, Arras and Amiens, 2.5 hours from Paris, Brussels and Reims. The nearest train station is approximately 25 minutes drive and will connect you to Lille, Paris and Belgium.
