Charming self-contained country cottage for weekend breaks and holidays. Snuggle up by the log-burning stove with a cup of tea/glass of wine after a long country walk. Located on the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire/South Yorkshire border within close proximity of beautiful Lincoln, only 1 hour 20 minutes' train journey from central London. Trinity Farm Cottage is a traditional country cottage with exposed beams, log-burning stove and wooden floors. It is cosy and warm, with a modern and fully-equipped kitchen, providing everything you need for a country break. The bedroom is open-plan with drawers and a hanging space. The bathroom is brand new with electric shower, traditional wash basin and heated towel rail. The cottage has its own private balcony from the bedroom, equipped with table and chairs. It is a lovely spot for a morning coffee, looking out towards the fields. The cottage also has a private formal garden centred on a large circular fountain. The garden has a large table with benches and a gas BBQ for the summer months. Trinity Farm itself dates back to the 16th century and was originally part of the estate of Trinity College, Cambridge. It is set in 8 acres of gardens and grounds and guests are welcome to roam freely. Trinity Farm Cottage is totally self-contained: guests have exclusive access to the Cottage, the balcony and the private garden. Guests are also welcome to wander around the fields and grounds of the main house. Parking is available next to the Cottage. We are always happy to help if guests have any questions. We live in the main house, Trinity Farm. Trinity Farm Cottage is located close to the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire/South Yorkshire border in the quiet, rural village of Walkeringham. The village is surrounded by open fields and other sleepy villages. There are many country pubs and restaurants close-by including the Fox and Hounds (Walkeringham), the Blue Bell (Gringley on the Hill) and the Blacksmith's Arms (Clayworth). The market town of Bawtry is a 10-minute drive away, which boasts many wine bars, restaurants, bars and has a lively nightlife at the weekends. The beautiful city of Lincoln is 20 miles away (easily reached by train from Gainsborough). The historic city has many attractions including Steep Hill, Lincoln Castle and beautiful Lincoln Cathedral. It is full of restaurants and little antique shops. The market town of Gainsborough is just a 10-minute drive away, home to Gainsborough Old Hall, one of the best preserved timber-framed manor houses in the country. Epworth, the starting place of the Pilgrim Fathers and part of the Mayflower Trial, is just 15 minutes' drive away. Trinity Farm Cottage is located 5 miles from Gainsborough train station and 11 miles from Retford train station, which is on the main line and 1 hour 20 mins from central London. The Cottage is well connected to the A1, at both Blyth and Retford. Retford also has a national coach station. There are also local taxis and buses.
