A beautifully converted 1945 boat nestled within a private forest overlooking the beautiful open fenland countryside. Perfect retreat for couples looking to relax, explore and visit the local towns. Located 15 minutes drive from Ely and 30 minutes from Cambridge. The boat forms part of the overall space incorporating the bedroom with a king size double or two singles, accompanied by a adjoining boat shack with an eclectic industrial style kitchen and bathroom with walk-in shower. The historic 1945 boat originally called the Anthony Stevenson sailed out of Penzance Cornwall, she has been converted in to a unique holiday retreat for couples. The modern boat interior has been designed to complement the beautiful oak beams and larch planking, it includes a double kingsize bed or two singles, running water, tea, coffee and WiFi. The boat is positioned on a large deck made of reclaimed sleepers within a tranquil forest overlooking the beautiful fenland countryside. The perfect retreat for couples to relax, explore and enjoy the amazing sunsets. Accompanied by an adjoining boat shack style building made from many reclaimed materials which contains your private eclectic industrial kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen contains a large vintage carpenters workbench, with butler sink, cooking hobs and fridge. The spacious bathroom includes a private walk-in shower, toilet and basin. If you would prefer to relax and bathe in nature on a fresh summers evening there is a secluded roll-top bath outside on the deck. The boat is positioned on its own privately fenced three acre forest, on our small holding where we live in a 1760 Georgian property with our pet goats, horses, dogs and chickens. We try to live a eco friendly sustainable lifestyle and as such the boat runs entirely off-grid with renewable energy produced by our solar panels. Sutton Village: The local village is a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk if you are looking to explore. There is a small village shop, pharmacy, Chinese takeaway, Indian takeaway The Isle of Ely: Ely a small market town 15 minute drive away, in fact classified as a City since it has an amazing cathedral. Many independent boutique shops to browse, antiques dealers, restaurants, vegan cafes and local farmers markets. Cambridge: A world renowned City of education known for its 31 colleges and breath taking architecture along with many art galleries, theatres, restaurants and artisan markets to enjoy. Cambridge is a 30 minute drive away from the boat shack. A car is recommended to visit the local sites such as Sutton, Ely and Cambridge. We have lots of parking available on the farm. If you are coming by train or bus we suggest you head to Ely and then book a taxi from Ely to the Boat Shack. Alternatively if we are available we will happily pick you up from Ely.
