The Old School House

The Old School Guest House includes three bedrooms, with self-catering facilities provided in a communal kitchen and a shared dining area. The Guest House offers a comfortable and relaxing stay for work and leisure guests, with some unique Wolverton décor. Designated parking spaces are provided for all 3 guest rooms and the lower floor of the guest house is accessible to users with limited mobility. Dogs are welcome in the downstairs bedroom and we have a dog welcome pack. There are three rooms in the guest house: The Railway Room (queen size bed, downstairs), The School Room (twin, 1st floor) and The Works Room (double, 1st floor). All rooms have their own bathrooms, but only The Works Room is ensuite. Your rooms come with fresh bedding and towels, as well as tea making stations. The Guest House offers two communal areas: a cosy living room with a table for six, a comfy arm chair and plenty of reading material, as well as a kitchen including a large fridge/freezer, hob, oven, storage, toaster and microwave. We are committed to environmental sustainability, and much of the guest house has been designed with that mission in mind. We encourage guests to support our aims by using locally available public transport and products, minimising their waste and recycling, and considering their energy use. We are currently planning the installation of solar panels, and already have an electric car charging point, which is available to guests. You can read more about our ethos in our Green Policy. Guests book online and receive information about access via email ahead of their stay. At the end of their visit, they return the key to a safe place, and the guest house team clean the room and change bedding and towels ahead of the next visitor. While there is a 24h number for emergencies, guests are encouraged to enjoy their stay independently and should not necessarily expect to meet a member of the Old School team. Check in is from 2pm onward and check out is by 10am. The neighborhood of Old Wolverton is quiet and residential, and the green landscape of the Ouse Valley Park is only three minutes walk away. Wolverton, with excellent restaurants and a few good pubs, is about 15 minutes walk away. Further information about the local shops and a map are available in the guest house ‘Welcome’ folder. The guest house has got three dedicated parking spaces, including one electric car charging point. There is a bus stop five minutes walk away, from which buses leave for the centre of Milton Keynes every 20 minutes. The journey takes 20 minutes. Bus time tables and more public transport information (including the Wolverton train station times) are available in the guest house. We have got two lockable bike sheds and encourage people travelling by bike to stay!
