It is set in its own grounds with stunning views over Loch Shiel and the hills beyond and is in a tranquil setting. Cycle store. No smoking. The cottage is near shops, hotels, post office, cafe and play park. The shop pub/restaurant are 5 minutes walk The Ardnamurchan Peninsula is popular with fishing enthusiasts. Boat hire and cruises are operated on Loch Shiel and Loch Sunart, giving an ideal opportunity to spot red deer, golden or sea eagles and much more. There are beautiful beaches within a 10-minute drive, or for the more energetic, take a walk to the more remote Singing Sands. Castle Tioram is also a 10-minute drive away. Bike hire is available in the neighbouring village of Strontian. Visit Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, the most westerly point on the British mainland and on the way you can stop at the Adelphi Distillery and the Glenmore Natural History Centre. Arisaig is a 40-minute drive from Brackenbrae, where you can book a ferry trip to the small isles of Rhum, Eigg or Canna. On a trip to Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis, you can enjoy a world-class mountain bike trail in summer, or skiing in winter. The steam train, made famous by the ’Harry Potter’ films, can take you on a spectacular journey from Fort William through Glenfinnan and on to Mallaig. A visit to the Glenfinnan Monument and visitor centre will fascinate you with the history of Bonnie Prince Charlie.
