Airstream Heaven Nr Matlock Crich & Cromford
The unique Sleepy Jean our quirky Vintage 1972 Airstream, has been completely refurbished and insulated. It nestles at the top of a field, with trees, stone walling, and few cows and sheep in peace and tranquility. The views are stunning. Your on your own. Park up and just chill, or walk to the Pub...10 minutes. We are only 2.7 miles from Matlock and Matlock Bath, Cromford and Crich. We sit on the edge of the Derwent Valley Mills Heritage corridor. It is a tiny home. Everything you need is there, just smaller. You feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere. During the day you can see for miles, at night it is very very dark if the moon is not out. We have heating and a woodburner .. We have a small fire pit for outside and a BBQ; with seating, blankets and cushions. The Airstream has an open plan sitting room/dining and kitchen area. A small shower/wet room with a toilet and basin. The bedroom consists of a permanent king sized bed that you have to climb into and another separate area with a single bed, The kitchen has a gas cooker, grill, hob, microwave and fridge-freezer. There is a radio & CD combined unit with auxiliary facilities for Android and Iphones to play your music. or listen to your podcasts or BBC Sounds app. We do not provide WiFi, but 4G is available at the Airstream location You have your own designated parking spot and the field where the Airstream sits is all yours. You may have some cows as neighbours; a few owls at night and may be the odd badger rabbit and squirrel. You will have access through our yard to a well used public footpath to Riber or the pub etc. Some exclusions are: No fires direct on the grass or fireworks No use of Drones at any time. No Loud Music from 11.00pm. No Parties or extra people without our permission. No Dogs without our confirmed permission. We live at the bottom of the track We are off the beaten track, with rolling hills fields and trees.There are three small cafes, one with a Post Office and shop, one.... Lea Gardens and one with outstanding views, Fuel. They all serve a variety of good food and within walking distance. We are just in the Industrial World Heritage Corridor with Smedley Mills home of British Fine Knitwear, Cromford Mills Industrial Museum etc, the Canal and Crich Tramway Museum, all 5 minutes by car or 35 mins walk up over the hills. The High Peak Trail starts just down the road at High Peak Junction. There is a first class butchers in the village, that do wonderful ready meals too. The area is steeped in history, Florence Nightingale lived here. There are plenty of footpaths for walking.. at least 10 different walks from the site, and great for cycling too as the High Peak Trail is 5 mins. down the road. The Jug and glass Pub is a 10 minute walk, great for lunches and evening meals. Matlock Bath and Matlock Cromford and Crich are all 2.5 miles away. Further afield there is Bakewell, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth and Hardwick, all about 25 minutes by car. Access to our site is up a steep gravel farm track but with your own parking spot at the end of it. We are quite happy to pick you up from the Station if required. Alternatively Cromford Railway station is only 5 minutes by car giving you access to Matlock or Derby and Nottingham. There is an hourly bus service too. However it is a 20 minute walk the long way round, or 15 via the river and some stepping stones for the bus Stop. It is perfect for cycling here The access to our land is via a steep gravel track. Most cars do it easily, even our Postman in heavy snow. I have a mini, and it copes very well.
