Fenced in backyard space with bbq, small yard for pets, but large pet-friendly park just down the street. Hosts live 2 houses away and are readily available by phone for questions or to socialize. You can enjoy taking the historic walking tour down Mill Street with landmarks depicting old Victorian homes and businesses. Bayfield has two family friendly parks for picnics and ball games in the evenings. Enjoy our river trail and farmers markets. Driving distance to Purgatory and Wolf Creek ski resorts. There is also the Sky Ute Casino with many amenities to enjoy. Close to two lakes (Navajo Lake State Park, and Vallecito Reservoir) for fishing and boating, 35 minutes to Pagosa Hot Springs, 20 minutes to Durango. Other attractions within reach are Mesa Verde Ruins, Aztec (NM) ruins, and Chimney Rock Observatory. Bayfield, itself, is a lovely old town to enjoy a walk-about. And Southwest Colorado is an amazing area for scenic byways for car or motorcycle touring. There are 4-wheel and ATV rentals available in most of the area towns, and guided tours are readily available. Many who visit find a place to always return. There is just too much to see in one visit! It is important to note that, because of the commercial/residential mix of Mill Street, during heavy snowfalls, guests MUST move their vehicles to an adjacent side street for parking to facilitate snow removal on Mill Street. It is possible that, if the vehicle is in the direct path of snow removal, it will be towed.
