Cozy fishermans cottage with a boat house

Welcome to stay in our cozy and newly renovated fishermans cottage with a view over the water. Relax by the house, on the beach or in our boat house built on the water. Enjoy the activities the ocean has to offer, explore the picturesque fishermans village or visit one of the local shops or restaurants on the island. The main house is located 50m from the ocean where you can enjoy the beach, the salty water, kayaking or fishing from bridges, sand, cliffs or bathing stairs. It is peaceful in the village and by the house and restaurants are not far away. There are five villages on the island of Skaftö, where Rågårdsvik is the forth in size. The house was build by fishermen around 1880 and was extended during the 1950s. We fully renovated the house from top to bottom in 2015, so everything is new and well functioning. Upstairs, the house has two bedrooms, one bathroom and a living room. The main upstairs bedroom has a double bed with a view over the ocean and the single bed room has a view over the backyard garden and the mountain. Downstairs, there are two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and a living room. The main bedroom has a double bed and the small guest room has 2 single bunk beds, both rooms have water views. There is a deck outside the living room with dining furniture, sun chairs and a charcoal grill. The boat house is included in your stay and is built on the water. It is a great place to hang out, fish for small crabs, have an evening dinner or to sip on a cold glass of white wine in the sun. There is a gravel tennis court located 125m from the main house. It can be rented from the village hotel. The island Skaftö is truly a paradise. It is located by the ocean in the middle of the Swedish westcoast and lies inside an amazing archipelago that gives shelter against the ocean waves. Skaftö is an old cultural area with fishing villages, maritime shipping and bathing as primary source of income. The closeness to the sea and the nature makes Skaftö a paradise for visitors. The summer on Skaftö means blue oceans, salt and sun. The autumn offers beautiful colours and strong forces. The winter cold refresh the spirit and invites for lighting up the fireplace and when the spring arrives the days get longer and you get an urge to go outside. The Rågårdsvik beach is very friendly for kids. A long bridge extends from the beach and is finished by two bathing huts. Three bathing stairs are mounted on the bridge. The island has two golf courses, a pay & play 9 hole course 1 km from the house and an 18 hole course 4 km from the house. The 18 course has a technical style with views over the ocean and the cliffs. The nature is close by hiking or biking. There are very nice bike and hike trails that binds together large parts of the island. The trails gives a possibility to enjoy the amazing nature on the island. There are several ways to enjoy food and drinks on Skaftö. Have a picknick on the cliffs or in the boat house with shrimps from the local fishing boat or visit the local oceanfront restaurants and cafes. You can get to Rågårdsvik by bus from Gothenburg. We would like to recommend a car to get the most out of your stay on the island.
