Escape to peace and quiet in the gold country. Newly renovated guest house on 20 acres between Plymouth and El Dorado. 30 minute hike to Consumnes River. Feed the goats and sheep. Enjoy fabulous sunsets, sunrises and stars. Venture to Shenandoah wineries, 30 minute drive. Explore gold rush towns; El Dorado, Diamond Springs, Plymouth, Jackson, Amador City, Sutter Creek, Placerville. Visit local breweries and Poor Reds legendary bar. Play foosball and darts in the guest house. Separate guesthouse on our 20 acre property. Our house is about 75 yards up the driveway. You will have lots of privacy. Kitchen area has table with 4 chairs. Kitchen sink, vintage stove/oven, toaster oven, microwave, coffeemaker, tea kettle, dinnerware and silverware. You will also have use of a refrigerator. Daybed with pull-out tundlebed in the main living area. Outdoors is a propane bbq and fire pit (limited availability) with chairs. Fires allowed only when permitted. The guesthouse does NOT have air conditioning, but is well shaded and stays fairly cool on hot days. Concrete floors in the main living area keep the main living space cooler. Hardwood laminate in entry, bedroom and bathroom. Slippers are recommended in the winter. Big Buddy propane heater and electric fireplace heater available for guest use in colder months. Floor fans are provided in hotter months. We do see rattlesnakes once a year, (usually in hot summer months) so please keep an eye out for them. Please be aware that ticks and poison oak are prevalent on hikes to the river. We will provide as much privacy as you like. We are usually up at the main house, so if you need anything, just ask! We would be happy to introduce you to the animals if desired. Very rural neighborhood. 25-30 minutes to Plymouth and Shenandoah Valley wine country. 35 minutes to downtown Placerville. 40 minutes to historic Sutter Creek. You will need a car to get to any neighboring towns. Local hiking directly adjacent to our property. You may want to bring hiking sticks if you’re interested in hiking to the beautiful Consumes River, which is about a 30 minute hike downhill from our property. Both of our dogs, Otto (an Anatolian Shepherd) and Lucia (an Australian cattle dog), will bark at you upon your arrival, but as they learn you are not a threat, they should settle down. Otto is a livestock guardian dog and protects our goats and sheep. He is an outside dog and sleeps outside at night. Please be aware that he may bark at night when wildlife is on or near our property. We will do everything we can to keep him as quiet as possible, but he is just doing his job. NO WiFi provided. We utilize our cell phones. Verizon and AT&T have good reception. Large TV with Amazon Firestick and DVD player provided. A limited selection of DVDs are available in the cottage, so feel free to bring your own favorites! Bring your own portable hot spot or a hot spot on your cell phone would be handy.
