Stable Cottage sits peacefully in the grounds of Manor Farm House on the edge of the rural village of Lasham in East Hampshire. Upstairs in the eaves there is a king size double bed made with crisp white cotton sheets and an en suite shower room with fluffy bath towels. Being completely separate from the main house means you can relax in total privacy. You even have your own sitting room. There is a tiny kitchen full of equipment and there you will also find breakfast staples such as tea, coffee, sugar, honey, marmite, and cereal and on your arrival the fridge will be stocked with butter, milk, jam, juice and pastries so you can enjoy your breakfast in your own time and at your own pace. The kitchen is equipped with a hob, a single oven/microwave and small fridge, a kettle and a toaster. There is unlimited wifi and a television, a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board and even a hair dryer! In the garden there is a croquet lawn, an astro-turf tennis court and a swimming pool for swimming. We are happy for you to use these by prior arrangement but only when our family and friends aren’t. We like to meet and greet our guests and although you will be staying in the grounds we are always available in the house just a few meters away - come and knock on the door. Lasham is a pretty village perfectly situated just over an hour south of London by car between the M3 and the A3. It is few miles from the market town of Alton and 9 miles from Basingstoke. There is LOTS to do in the area. Go gliding at Lasham Gliding Society. Find a footpath or bridle path and go walking. Discover England’s newest National Park, The South Downs. Walk along the canal at North Warnborough and see Odiham Castle. Go Ape at Alice Holt or Tree Running near Andover. Go cycling anywhere and everywhere. Go shopping in Winchester or visit the cathedral or King Arthurs table. Go to see Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton. Visit Portsmouth to see the Mary Rose or HMS Victory. Go bowling or ice skating in Basingstoke or shopping at Festival Place. Go and while some time away in the beautiful Georgian wool town of Alresford. Go to Highclere Castle to see the Egyptian relics from the tomb of Tutankhamun. Take a steam train along the Watercress Line. There are lots of pubs in the area serving delicious food: The Royal Oak in Lasham itself and therefore only a 3 minutes walk, The Sun in Bentworth (definitely worth the short drive), the Hoddington Arms in Upton Grey, The Fur & Feathers in Herriard, The Anchor Inn in Lower Froyle, the Woolpack Inn in Totford, Bel and the Dragon at the George in Odiham, The Purefoy Arms in Preston Candover. Or if you prefer, Alton and Basingstoke are host to restaurants like Pizza Express, Wagamamas, Nandos Getting around by car is definitely the easiest. However, South West Trains run from Alton and Basingstoke to London Waterloo and to the west. National Express buses run to Basingstoke. Taxis are available to pick up from these stations or can by ordered by telephone. The local bus makes stops on the A339 between Alton and Basingstoke but is quite a walk from the village. Sadly the bus directly to the village has recently been stopped. We are close to three airports: Heathrow is 50 minutes, Gatwick 90 minutes and Southampton 40 minutes. There is one UK king size bed which accommodates 2 people maximum. This can be made up into 2 singles but there are no facilities to accommodate more than 2 guests. However we do have a travel cot.
